When I found a photo of the Lighthouse lit up for Christmas, I just had to see it for myself. Parking down there at night with nothing but the wind whistling, the waves crashing below and seeing the reflection of the lights on the water was so eerily beautiful ! The lights outlined the Keeper's house, lighthouse and part of the fence against the night sky. It was so peaceful, I didn't want to leave to go back to the hotel. Then, next to the little eatery along the road (you have to pass), were the Lobster traps build up to resemble a Christmas tree, also lit in Christmas colors. I took some nice shots right from my window, for others I stood outside the car. Be careful not to get too close to the edge, as it was unlit and dark. We shined our headlights out so we could see the edge. Aside from some large rocks & boulders, there is no barrier and it could be dangerous if you slipped on the wet stones or fell from a ledge. Except for my hsb & I, there wasn't another soul around.
