Description: For many of us at GiGi's, our love of food started with our grandparents. A trip to gradma's always meant a roast in the oven and warm cookies and pies for dessert! Throughout our respective restaurant careers, Italian food and drink has inspired us immensely. Gigi is a name used for grandma in Italian. We found it very fitting that this restaurant, the culmination of our love for Italian food and drink, be named for our grandmothers.

Atmosphere was very nice and suitable for a dressy date night or classy business dinner. Food was delicious! Nice change from all of the touristy places in the area.

We wandered into Gigi's, which was a bit hard to find, while on vacation in York. Upstairs on a side street with less than brilliant signage, it's a wonder we find the place, but thank goodness we did. We were greeted by the host/GM who was charming and lovely (and incredibly handsome) He happily accomodated our party of 7 and seated us immediately. A great waitress delivered fantastic service. And.....THE FOOD! Linguine with clams was amazing. Fresh Fresh Fresh Pasta...WOW. My parents had the Flounder picatta and they raved. My son had spaghetti with butter and cheese off the bambinos menu. He received a nest of angel hair that he gave two enthusiastic thumbs up. 2 kids had pizza, which was wood fired with fresh mozzarella and was 8 steps above your usual kids fare. Absolutely wonderful meal. Bravo Gigi's. If you go to York....go to Gigi's. Put it in your GPS and find it. It's right behind the cheesy arcade and bowling alley on the second floor of the Atlantic building. Just GO.

Our family was going to the theater in Ogunquit and got stuck in terrible traffic which made us 45 minutes late for our reservation on a busy Saturday. Right from start, the staff bent over backwards to get us in and out, which they did in 50 minutes! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We found the food to be very good and a cut above the other choices in the immediate area. The restaurant had a nice décor with some attractive views of the water from the balcony and first set of tables inside. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to going back.

My husband and I dropped by for dinner and were happily surprised with the quality of the food and the service. We ordered the bruschetta (which turned out to be a nice chef variation with pear and balsamic reduction), the wood grilled Caesar, the sausage pizza and the linguini and clams. We finished our meal with the brownie.

Each item we picked was delightful, and each variation made by the chef was appreciated. The Caesar was very nice and fresh, the sausage pizza was light and tasty and the linguini with clams was wonderful. Now at first, the linguini dish was too salty. When I inquired with our server, she immediately took it back and the owner came to see me to apologize and let me know that they were making another dish for me and that the clam juice (normally added to the sauce) was being discarded. It was the rigth thing to do and the source of the extra salt. I was very satisfied with the way it was handled. I guess they could have offered a complimentary drink or desert for the delays and inconvenience, the servers and owners were so nice that I didn't feel it necessary. The chocolate brownie was a nice cherry on the cake. The homemade brownie was light and the homemade gelato was a great addition. Definitely big enough to share.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was delightful and the location, with ocean view and in the middle if the bustling town, is unique.

Though Italian connaisseurs may find Gigi's to be Americanized, the food is delicious and the attention to details are enough to win you over.
