We went to a wedding this past Friday, I will start out by saying the view is amazing. I could sit out on their lawn all day. The food was decent and the staff the served it were very nice. The wedding ceremony was outside, they set up a bar there. It was quite cold and people soon moved into the reception hall. They dismantled the outside bar and for an hour an a half had no bar going in the reception hall. People tried to get drinks in the restaurant bar and were rudely turned away. I have never been to a wedding where you couldn't get a drink. The drinks were also very pricey, they list a lot of money. I do not like either how the reception room was broken up in to separate rooms. We were off in a side room and didn't feel part of the wedding at all. The dance floor was also tiny.

We thank you for your review, and we are sorry to hear of your disappointment with a few aspects of the event that you attended. The wedding couple, did indeed, insist on having their ceremony and cocktail hour outside, despite the fact that it was a cold and damp day. We abided with their request, knowing full well that their guests may be affected.

We do want to apologize for the fact that the bar was not open when the event transferred into the banquet room. The bar staff is usually so quick to move over to the inside venue. We have addressed this with the appropriate staff members. Most definitely, you should have been able to receive a drink in a more fashionable and acceptable time frame.

The function room does extend into an adjoining area which we use for bigger weddings. We certainly can understand that you did not feel tied into the main area. Thank you for the input.

I am glad that you enjoyed other aspects of the inn...the view, the food and the staff attention at the event.

My husband and I stayed at the Stage Neck Inn for four nights. Our previous stay was at least 3 years ago. Thankfully, the place still has the luxury accoutrements we expect. The Inn is a little high priced, BUT well worth it. Our room was harbor-side with an ocean view. In addition to being lovely, it has a small sitting area with a sofa and 2 easy chairs that overlooks the harbor. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon of quiet ocean viewing. Service at the Inn is impeccable - competent and cordial. Breakfast is included and offers hot foods such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, as well continental breakfast foods - yogurt, fruit, cereals. We especially love the bar here. The bartenders know the classic drinks and obviously enjoy their work. The indoor swimming pool and hot tub are well maintained. It was a pretty quiet group of guests during our stay which we greatly appreciate being quiet people ourselves.

We stayed at The Stage Neck Inn at the end of a 10 day autumn trip to New England. We were delighted with our choice. Two minutes from the hotel is a gorgeous beach & you can walk along a coastal path with great views.

Rooms are spacious and have every comfort. Ours had a balcony overlooking an inlet into the harbour.

Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent & staff couldn't do enough for you.

Room Tip: Most rooms have views over the beach or the harbour

I visited the Stage Neck Inn for a mediumship workshop with John Holland. Pardon the pun, but in addition to communicating with those who have passed, we also found the Inn to be heavenly! The staff match or exceed any 5-star hotel in their efficiency, care and attention to detail. Special thanks to Wendy at registration, who was simply superb in helping me with a little matter that arose. Thank you too to the wonderful staff in the dining room, particularly the excellent person who made me iced coffee! The Stage Neck Inn is a model of gentility, with echoes of a time when guests came first. There is a welcome from every staff member that you meet, afternoon tea with scrumptious tea cakes in the afternoons, and great food - everything home made with care, nothing processed or microwaved. Loved the staff and the food! The rooms mostly have views of the water, which is on 3 sides of the hotel. I had a harborview room, and just loved hearing the water and seeing the boats go past. I highly recommend the Inn for a vacation or a meeting, and I plan to return with my family soon. Thank you to all the wonderful people at the Inn!

Everything was wonderful, and the service was top notch. Beautifully decorated (and very clean!) rooms. We chose the bed and breakfast option, and the breakfast buffet was very good, with lovely views from the dining room. We did not eat dinner here, but did have drinks at the bar - a little pricey, but very good with friendly service. If I had one change to make, it would be that the indoor pool would stay open a little later. 10pm is fairly standard, but we are night owls and would have loved to use the whirlpool later in the evening. We will absolutely stay here again

So very happy that you loved the inn, along with the service, breakfast buffet, etc.

As for the indoor pool, we do have to close it at 10 p.m. in order to begin the process of adding chemicals to both the pool and the hot tub. So sorry about that.

We look forward to your return visit! And, once again, thank you for your nice review!

Came here for a work retreat and it really felt like getting away. Perfect size for our small group of about 40-50 people. Having stayed in a number of hotels or all sizes, this place feels different. It manages to offer a "cottagy" feel. The dining room offers an expansive view of the ocean. My room offered a covered balcony overlooking the inlet and the avenue to the open ocean. Unfortunately, it was too cold to go out on the deck, but I could still here the relaxing sounds of the ocean. I had a little bit of free time to go walking along the adjacent Cliff Walk...even managed to catch the sunrise! Staff were extremely attentive and food was quite enjoyable. Overall, many in my group were saying "I'm coming back!"

Room Tip: I would try to get a room on the ocean vs the parking lot side.

Thank you for the lovely review. So glad that you had a great group retreat. The inn does offer some wonderful group meetings/retreats on a year-round basis. The meeting and function rooms do all have great views of the beach, harbor and ocean.

So glad that you found the walking paths. The Fisherman's walk along the harbor is my favorite!

We hope to have you as a guest again in the near future. Again, we thank you for your review.

Living in the south western corner of MA on the second highest mountain in the state, my husband and I felt the need to relief ourselves of the wintery bliss and decided to travel to York, ME for an overnight stay. We chose to stay at the Stage Neck Inn and did we made the right choice.

We had the most wonderful stay. Where do I begin? The property is well kept, clean and certainly exhitbits an eye for detail. Our room had a beautiful ocean view. We enjoyed the most delicious dinner and breakfast. We were fortunate for dinner and breakfast to have a window table with glorious views.

Every employee we encountered was gracious, professional and had a smile on their face. We were surprised how busy the inn was despite being off-season.

We enjoyed the shopping in Kittery. We will highly recommend the Stage Neck Inn and my husband and I are talking about our next return visit.

Room Tip: Reserve an ocean view room. There is a balcony so you can sit outside.
