We felt we had to write a review, after such a wonderful dining experience on a recent Friday night. From start to finish, we felt so pampered and "led" from one great course to the next. Starting with martinis at the bar, to the salad, rolls, our entrees (I have more to say about them!) and finally, the creme anglais for dessert. We left the restaurant that night, both of us feeling that it was one of the best meals we've ever had, in our lives. Seriously.
I had the seafood risotto (creamy risotto topped with grilled shrimp, sea scallops and melt-in-your-mouth lobster chunks) and my husband had the citrus grilled scallops special, each was magnificent. We found ourselves savoring every bite, similarly to the lobster eggs benedict we'd been treated to when we stayed at the Inn in August. It was that breakfast that made us say "we HAVE to get back here for dinner". We've been fortunate enough to have had some very special meals in special places, this one was right up there with the best of them. Paul is truly a gifted chef. Who knew there'd be such magic from such a small kitchen and restaurant? We'll be spreading the word - this inn, and the restaurant, are must-stop destinations if you're in the York, Maine area. We'll can't wait to get back.

Chapman Cottage Restaurant consistently delivers excellent dining experiences. The quality and value are outstanding. Chef Paul has mastered the fillet, his pork tenderloin has a huge following. Creative seafood risottos are always wonderful. You might try his inventive lobster/macaroni and cheese. Also, for light bites, the Tapas/martini bar is fun. Wines by the glass are extensive and interesting. Donna makes a mean martini as well...ask for the "Cold River". For the full dining experience, be sure to secure a reservation. You won't be disappointed.
