“Good Italian fare in decent atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

This restaurant serves good Italian food and the service on our visit (despite the reviews to the contrary) was good. The atmosphere is so-so, but what can you do at the location this is at?
All in all, Assaggi wouldn't get any stars in Guide Michelin, but if you are in Bethesda anyway, it is a good choice for Italian food.

“Assaggi is a terrific restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

We eat at Assaggi regularly. The food is consistently excellent and the service is very attentive, especially if Wadi is your waiter. The mozzarella plate is unique and tasty, and the pasta is always fresh and well-prepared. The wine list is very good, especially if you like Italian reds. It is where we always go when we want a nice, higher-end meal in Bethesda instead of heading downtown, and it has never disappointed.

“Thanksgiving at s mozzarella bar - big success.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013 via mobile

There weren't that many restaurants taking reservations for Thanksgiving and reviews for this place were good, so I took a chance. They offered a prix fixe menu for Thanksgiving that offered their spin on traditional American fate. It was all excellent! Service was excellent and the decor was outstanding. Removing the TVs would complete the look. The TVs made it seem lower class, or a little like a bar. IMHO, nice restaurants shouldn't have TVs.

“Italian Thanksgiving!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2013 via mobile

Staying in DC area for Thanksgiving, no dinner plans, so we booked Assaggi on Open Table. Amazing surprise!!

I was dubious of Thanksgiving at an Italian restaurant, but this was incredible!

Turkey tortellini soup, main entree of turkey three ways with stuffing, and then Italian apple tart with ice cream.

Do they even celebrate Thanksgiving in Italy? After this meal, they should!!
