I selected this restaurant based on positive reviews and was satisfied with the food and overall value. However, I was slightly underwhelmed given the previous reviews. I had a combination chicken/lamb kebab and the meat was tender but lightly seasoned. The bread served as an appetizer was fine but somewhat dry.

The decor was unpretentious and comfortable but I was sitting at the bar area and noticed that I could see the raw meat in the glass cooler and the visible kitchen area left a lot to be desired.

The restaurant is very reasonably priced, especially for Bethesda. You can easily be full for $10-$15 per person and it beats the chains.

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for solid middle eastern cuisine but given the many choices in the area, I still think it is a little overrated.

Closest to my hotel. Lamb kabobs were tender and tastey. Good meal at reasonable price.

This is a restaurant that takes hospitality, good manners, and above all, wonderful food seriously. And this is a restaurant where diners are obviously happy - you hear it in the joyful conversations from nearby tables, see the smiles on families' faces, and even the manager and waiters seem happy. No wonder: the food is fantastic. The menu offers wraps, stews (some as specials) and kabobs (which I had). Vegetarians and carnivores alike will safely graze here. My chicken kabobs with accompanying vegetables, a yogurt-based sauced and wonderfully-grilled flatbread were seasoned just right, tender, and satisfying. Perhaps the best recommendation: when I arrived for dinner, this restaurant was nearly packed with families and couples who appear to have grown up on "Persian" cuisine. No wonder they flock here: to me, this tastes like home cooking at its finest. And not incidentally, Kabob Bazaar is incredibly reasonable. This modest, friendly place is a destination for a meal that is about good food, good people and good will.
