We had heard about the Chesapeake Inn for years so decided to try it. Very disappointed. The seafood was OK, but very overpriced. The view of the canal is great, but inside is tired and dated. The service was OK, but we were really disappointed with the food considering the prices they charge. There are much better options along the Chesapeake. I would not recommend this restaurant. We have never been back, and don't intend to.

We went on memorial day, and boy was it crowded! Lots of college aged/young people getting drunk and being loud. We had a 30 minute wait, and when they called us, they didn't believe us when we returned to the hostess stand! Our waitress was slow, it took forever for drinks, then ordering, then refills, then her to pick up the check. We only had starters, which were average. The mac and cheese balls along with the crab pretzel were different. Nothing to rave over, but I had fun and was satisfied.

This was our second visit here with friends and was impressed by the service and quality of the product. Good service is hard to find however, our waiter was on top of everything but not intrusive! We love seafood, and all of the seafood was fresh and not ammonia tasting as that is a sign that the fish is old. Didn't visit the outside deck, as our friends are older, but it's looks like it's jumping! Many areas to dine and relax (outdoor/indoor) and different menus, so yes they have something for all ages. You have to try it if you are in the area, as Chesapeake City is also worth the day trip!

I have been to Chesapeake Inn many times over the years. The Inn is well-managed with an appealing menu. The family that owns it also owns the excellent La Casa Pasta in Newark, Delaware. There were six of us for dinner on a Saturday night, in the dining room, not on the deck. We were forced to use valet parking because there was a wedding reception arriving, a private party departing, and another private party going on. Fortunately, we had reservations; don’t ever go here without them. The six of us had six different dishes. The bread was fresh and the staff kept the basket full. The Brussels sprouts soup was unusual and tasty. Crab cordon blue, chicken fingers, and cheeseburger were delicious. The “cherry wood” salad of spinach, bacon, pecan, cranberry, apples and goat cheese would have been enjoyable if it hadn’t be soaked in the vinaigrette; be sure to ask for the dressing on the side. Worst of all was the tomato soup that was so burning with pepper it was inedible. Service was prompt and appropriate. The menu is a bit overpriced, but the price includes the restful view of the marina and the traffic on the C&D Canal. I will go to the Chesapeake Inn again, but this is the last time I will ever go on a Saturday.
