We were married on the lawn of the River Inn on Sunday, August 4, 2013, and it was a beautiful venue and the service was excellent. We had the entire inn for our family for several nights, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and cozy. This is the third family event at this facility, and it is highly recommended.

Room Tip: No elevator, so if you have problems with steps, try to get on the first or second floor. This is a B & B, so don't expect it to be quiet and private like a major hotel. Each room does have private bath and the view of the Chester river is excellent.

The River Inn is in a great location on the river a few miles out of Chestertown. It's very laid back and relaxing. You feel right at home in this lovely old house built in 1830. We spent two nights and both nights, we sat out on the porch just enjoying the evening. There is a bar right down at the "beach" a few hundred feet away if you want to get a drink and have company. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms modern but it's the history of the house that makes it special.

Lovely property, right on the chester river. Small private beach, Beach bar (lots of fun), swimming pool and marina all in the same place. Marina has boats for rent and daily slips are availalble.Sandy, the innkeeper was great and so is her staff. They are willing to help you in any way they can. Rooms are clean, simple...very comfortable B&B (1830s). Close to town. I would suggest going during the week if you can as the summer weekends are much busier. Pet friendly...and they are allowed in the river so they can swim with you! WIFI available too for those that cant live without :)

Room Tip: first floor room is near the front door, so may be a bit noisier
