We stayed here for over a week so we feel like we experienced a lot of this hotel. The good: the staff were nice and always helpful, the hotel offered a hot breakfast and on some evenings either ordered dinner or grilled dinner for guests, onsite laundry facility for guests to use, and the bed was comfortable. The bad: the breakfast offered "fresh" fruit, but the apples were wrinkled and dull which was really unappetizing and made me wonder what the rest of the food would be like or if it was stored/prepared properly, the laundry facility was expensive, the elevator was so small that we had to tetris the luggage cart into it (as my hubby smashed me with it!), there was no thermostat in the room so we had to guess when to turn on and off the heat, and channels on tv didn't always work. The ugly: me. When I had to barge into the hallway after midnight because guests on our floor were running up and down the halls and slamming doors which woke my infant. I may have been a little, ahem, upset. After I made my opinion of the disruption known, I turned back to my room to find a security guard stationed RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR DOOR. Also, they must pay someone per mile to plow snow off of the parking lot. This guy was scraping metal on asphalt for days after the snow storm even when there really didn't seem to be any snow to be plowed. Imagine the noise.... for days...and days..., our toilet was clogged the first day - the guy came right away to snake it but when he was done he didn't bother to wrap the end of the snake up before walking through our room. Gross.
If we had to, we would stay there again despite the noise because the room was clean (other than the introduction of poo water), the staff was accommodating, and the proximity to DC.More
