“A Terrific Lunch Experience”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

The food is good, not great. But for a weekday lunch -- we were celebrating the retirement of a friend -- La Ferme offered the perfect place! Quiet, sunlit French country restaurant atmosphere; excellent, totally unhurried service (we spent nearly 3 1/2 hours and no one bothered us or complained) and a sensational ambience, all at a reasonable price. On weekends, there's much more of a crowd, but La Ferme is still an attractive place for a special occasion like Mother's Day. So long as you don't expect gourmet cuisine, you won't be disappointed.

“Wonderful and Romantic”
Reviewed 29 January 2014

We went there in November and had a quiet dinner in a little corner just the two of us. Ordered the Berkshire Farms Pork Chop and Salmon Tournedo with the Terrine of Wild Game for starters to go with our Champagne. The service is wonderful. We go here because they spoil you! The menu changes with the seasons and is always interesting. It's our "occasion" place. Simply said, it's wonderful.

“Special Celebration/Special Restaurant”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 via mobile

We had a great experience with a private party for 35 at this charming place! Staff was very accommodating and helpful with planning and the food was great. I highly recommend it - and would plan another event there.

“grande dame”
Reviewed 23 December 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

This is an old fashioned restaurant with linen tablecloths, fresh flowers, well-spaced tables and low noise levels. It is a shame that it seems to therefore only attract people of a certain age because it has a lot to offer. I have yet to be disappointed by a meal here. It may not be a "wow" meal with foams and powders and towers of ingredients - but it is satisfying, well-presented, with little touches like warm bread and soft butter that harken back to a different, less hurried time.

“Gnats All, Folks”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

A pretty little restaurant in a neighborhood that has little around it, so it's needed. The trouble, on my night, was the gnats, fruit flies, or whatever you call them, bombarding our plates. In December. Indoors. Not nice. The foie gras was tasty, albeit the slices were the size of overseas postage stamps. The venison was nice, if less gamy than I prefer and a bit overdone. Huge portion, though. Extensive wine list, at a markup that was noticeable but not obnoxious. OK service. Enjoyed the pianist. Gotta get rid of those gnats, though. Given the competition available a short drive away, not sure I'd go back. Not "special" if you've eaten many meals overseas, but nice. Better than Chez Francois, lately. My one-third of the bill came to $90, sharing one bottle of wine among us; no desserts. May have outdoor seating in summer.
