We had the fixed lunch menu of 2 courses which worked out very good value as the food was excellent. The only disappointment with the meal was that online the duck was listed as being on the set lunch menu - but on arrival it was only part of the a la carte. I would have chosen it. However, my second choice of the bass was beautifully cooked and the accompanying couscous (usually so boring) surprisingly tasty. Nice to see haggis as part of the starter menu - a first for my husband who thought it lovely.
The staff were polite and friendly.
The only thing which down-scored this establishment was the décor. We were given a table in the back-room - presumably a function room. As 'interesting' as the décor was it really needed a fresh coat of paint and new wallpaper (which was peeling). Plus it was very dark - a shame as we stared out of the windows on to a beautiful sunny day outside.
Definitely go there for the food.
