Visited for an evening meal after staying fairly locally. Really good welcome from all the staff - we could sit anywhere we wanted to eat - we chose the dining room. Lovely old room and pub has nice atmosphere. Menu has a fairly small choice - but we both found something to choose - the sausages and mash with gravy was lovely( really rich dark gravy) and other half enjoyed his fish and chips.
We managed to share a dessert before staying for a few drinks in the bar. They were happy to serve my coffee there. Friendly landlady bantered with other guests who loved it !.
Big thanks to the landlady who organised a taxi for us when we were let down by a local firm , allowing to sit in the bar till the taxi arrived, despite everyone else disappearing off to bed and home !
