We were in the area for my mothers birthday to spend time with the family. The hotel is in a good location close to the family and lots of other activities such as the city and lots of restaurants. My mom was very surprised when she got to her room because the staff had left her a Happy Birthday card and a bottle of champagne with chocolate covered strawberries. Her favorite! That was very nice of them! On Saturday we went downstairs and had breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby. Dad had the buffet and my sister and I ordered off the regular menu. Everything was good. Both Friday and Saturday night the bar in the lobby seemed very lively with lots of people having a good time. The ladies that helped us check in and out were extremely pleasant and helpful. Both my parents and my room were very spacious. The indoor pool looked fun, I unfortunately just didn't have the time to enjoy it. We will defiantly be staying here again when were are in town visiting the family.

Stayed here for 10 days for a work conference in October. I must say that the check in experience was pleasant. I found the front desk employees during my entire stay to be friendly and knowledgeable. One of the positives of this property is they have a shuttle that will take you to mass transit. The front desk female employee was incredibly helpful in helping me pre plan my route to get me to downtown DC. People that complain about paying for early check in are 100 percent wrong. Leave later and you will arrive when you are suppose to check in.

The room was a little outdated but had a fridge. The balcony was a nice feature. The room appeared larger then a standard size hotel room. I found the room to be clean and well kept. The housekeeping staff was always friendly and always asked if I needed extra towels or anything else. I found the bed to be incredibly comfortable. The hotel is adjacent to a very busy trauma hospital so you if you are a light sleeper bring a fan to drown out the sirens. I didn't use the pool because I had no interest in swimming. It appeared it is used daily for outside groups.

The restaurant is without a doubt the most poorly run establishment on planet earth and perhaps the entire universe. I was hesitant to eat there because it was close to empty on a Friday night the day of our arrival. The service was so bad that it took almost 20 minutes to be recognized by a server. After ordering the food, it took almost 60 minutes to arrive. We almost walked out but the hapless waiter convinced us to stay and order another drink. After receiving our food which was nothing but overpriced frozen meats, potatoes, and vegetables we started to wonder if the server was going to come back with our drinks. I want to remind you we were one of only 3 other smaller tables in the whole place. After picking at the drivel they call food, the waiter came back with our bill and our drinks at the same time. It made us laugh but we didn't make an issue and just drank up. The manager who clearly knows the service is a joke came over to ask how everything was. We just looked at him in amazement that he would actually ask us this after what he clearly observed. Unfortunately, we ate at the restaurant on the first night of our long stay so it was not a good first impression. We were willing to sit there eat and drink and spend a lot of money. The experience was so bad that we never even set foot in the bar during the duration of our stay. We heard the same story from other people who tried the place out. We told anyone who asked how pathetic the restaurant was. To fix the problem the hotel should fire everyone involved in any part of the restaurant and hire someone new or lease out the property to an established bar and grill.

Overall, most of the people we dealt with were nice and friendly. However the restaurant experience was so horrible, when we return to visit we will not stay here. There are numerous options in the area and we will explore those.

I stayed here to be close to my family. I never heard of this hotel before but someone recommended it to me. I'm extremely happy that I listened. When I came in, the front desk was more than welcoming. The bellman helped me carry my stuff in with no hesitations. The check in process was quick and easy. I liked that they had balconies (even though it was a bit cold outside. It is still good for fresh air.). The food at the Wayfarer Restaurant was definitely wonderful. And all you can eat breakfast for only $7?? Definitely worth it. Had fun at the Decoy Lounge with the bands playing. The room was clean and comfortable. Management was fast in responding to issues. Oh I am definitely coming back here. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a balcony. You get better cell service, and you don't have to walk far to get...

Thank you for the great hospitality your staff showed my daughter and son-in-law at Christmas. I booked the room for them ahead of time since I knew they were traveling from NJ. After they checked into there room they came to my house for dinner and would not stop talking about the beautiful, comfortable room and the warm welcome from the lady's at the front desk.
