“pretty good Asian buffet”

Let's face it, you don't go to an Asian buffet expecting the best quality cuisine. You want a variety of food at a modest price. Among Asian buffets in the DC-Maryland area, I'd rate Sakura among the better ones. The sushi was pretty good and I really liked the spare ribs. The dim sum was not the best, though.

The night we went the men's room seemed to have some kind of overflow, which seemed kind of yucky, but I assume this was just a fluke.

For a slightly reduce rate, even just 2 dollars cheaper, this would have earned all 5 stars! Nice place for family to dine. spacious, excellent options and good service too.

Sorry but this is a typical slop the hogs buffet. Little bit dirty. Food not really hot. Short on Sushi . . . mostly California rolls. Service was attentive and friendly but the rest was disappointing.

My poor review of this restaurant is probably the result of higher expectations than I should have had. In reality, this buffet should have been advertised as an Asian food buffet. There was virtually nothing that made it any more of a "seafood" buffet than most other Chinese food buffets. While it offered crab-in-the-shell, it was very small and looked awful (I didn't bother). There was fried shrimp, fried calamari, one variety of fried fish, and baked tilapia. All of these, however, were cold and rather bland (even for a buffet's standard).

The buffet did have a sushi bar with a large selection. However, I couldn't bring myself to try it after eating the disappointing food from the other stations.

Disappointing food and a restaurant that is guilty of rather misleading advertising.

This buffet is good if you like variety, but don't expect it to be any better than your average Chinese buffet. They did have a few seafood items, but overall it was what you would normally expect. The plus side is you had more to choose from, including desserts. The food was no better or worse than other Chinese buffets I have been to before. It was a bit pricey compared to what I am used to (usually anywhere from $8-10 per person). Here it was $12 or $13. And my son who is 11 had to eat at adult prices. So it was almost $50 for 3 of us including drinks but not including tip.
