We usually go to the small, less formal restaurant on Harper's Farm in Columbia. The kabobs are the best in the area. Everything is good -- the chickpeas, pumpkin, samosas, mantwo, bread, green sauce, everything is spiced well and delicious,

This restaurant and take out is in the center of Harper's Choice shopping area, Columbia. I've never eaten inside, and it's just a typical small place and appears most folks just take out. I loved the Chicken Tikka Kabab which was dark meat chicken which were legs. I thought this dish was outstanding. I love the seasoning. Everyone else got Kofta Kabab, which is ground beef wrapped in a stick. It is always good and seasoned perfectly. The dinners come with Basmati Rice and a small salad. The only misstep for me was a appetizer of eggplant. It was very greasy and kind of a big mess- its cooked in tomatoes, green pepper and served with a yogurt sauce. All of the vegetables were non- distinguishable. The complimentary Tandori Bread is awesome. Like pita, but thicker and soft, and plenty of it. I'm sure this is homemade. All in all, this is great place for some different take out food with reasonable prices- skip the pizza and burgers, and get a taste of middle eastern flavors.

Good food but average service for a restaurant that has been decorated so beautiful. Will try the other maiwand locations in the future especially the hanover one.

I ordered a chicken kabob and was told it would be 15 minutes. The kabob came out warm. The wait was longer than 15 minutes. The waiter offered to reheat the kabob but that usually alters the texture of chicken that was to have been cooked fresh. The pita bread came out piping hot. The restaurant was empty except for 1 table of 4 in addition to my table of 2.

There are apparently four of these, one in Hanover, one in Linthicum Heights, and two in Columbia. This review is for the one in Harper's Choice, in Columbia. I've only ever been to this one. This was my third visit.

I came in to get a carry out lunch this time, which I had not ordered ahead. This was on a Thursday at about 1245. The small dining room was full with the exception of one unoccupied table. I was in line behind one customer, whose business was done in under two minutes. After i ordered, i waited about ten minutes for my food to be ready. I had a lamb kabob, which is a platter that comes with rice and a salad, and an order of rice pudding out of the refrigerated case. Tis came to just over $16, which is somewhat big for lunch. That being said, the food was excellent, the lamb tender and succulent and well spiced, the rice well spiced too, and the salad fresh and generous. Portions were generous. The rice pudding had a nice flavor, and was topped with pistachios and a bit of cinnamon. With a visit.
