When I checked into my room, there were toenail clippings on the duvet of one bed and the other bed looked slept in. I removed the bedding from one bed and asked to have it changed and left the room for the day. When I returned, the "clean" sheets appeared to have mascara on the pillow cases and the fitted sheet also had some sort of black streaks, so I asked for clean linens again (offering to change it myself if necessary). At checkout, the desk attendant asked if all had gone smoothly during my stay. I informed her about the toenail clippings and two requests for clean linens. She politely apologized, informed me that it wasn’t the hotel’s "usual standard" and said that the housekeeper must have been “rushed” that day.
The housekeeper who came up to change the linens while I was there was very courteous and professional.
I stayed because reviews for other hotels in the area suggested I might face a similar cleaning standard elsewhere.More
