“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2013 via mobile

We loved our 2 nights in the Safari Suite! The suite is large and very tastefully decorated. We were celebrating a special occasion, and Ron and Shelby were wonderful hosts. The Peacock restaurant is not to be missed . . . Food is wonderful and the presentation is spectacular. This is an exceptional B&B. It is beautiful, quiet, elegant, and perfect! We have stayed at Perry Cabin, but Dover is even better!

Stayed at Inn at 202 Dover for husband's birthday, and it lived up to my expectations (pretty high given the price of a nightly stay). We arrived a couple hours early not expecting we could check in but the owners welcomed us. The suite (English) was spacious, bed sooooo comfortable, bath well appointed. Breakfast was delicious, not too fussy. We also had dinner there (at the Peacock), which was tasty, appealingly presented, embracing local foods (ie, crab)-- served at a relaxed pace. Enjoyed Easton as well -- history museum, art museum, local tavern for lunch, beautiful gardens. All we missed was a view of water or garden from the windows.

We stayed here as part of a dear friend's wedding. While my wife and I were anticipating a lovely weekend stay based on what we read about the Inn at 202 Dover Street, what we experienced far surpassed our expectations. Ron and Shelby are just wonderful and their staff superb. Our room (the English Suite) was perfect. Our first day was spent relaxing and getting acquainted with the Inn and wandering through old Easton. The next day, wedding ceremony, reception and dinner for 40 were conducted with unflappable elegance and style.
If you love personal service ( the kind that no 6star large hotel can ever deliver) you must stay at the Inn at 202 Dover St. Thank you Ron and Shelby, you hosted a truly wonderful weekend for us.

Room Tip: Each room has its own character, choose the one most appealing to you. You can't go wrong.

The Inn at 202 Dover far exceeded my expectations even though I had read its many excellent reviews. Ron and Shelby are gracious hosts that pay close attention to every detail. The inn is beautiful. I especially liked the fine china and silverware and the rose and peacock on each table. The Victorian room was quiet and let in lots of sunshine. The furniture and antique bric a brac are beautiful and remind me of my mother's antique collections. The food in the restaurant is excellent, especially the bread pudding at dessert. I am not much of a fish person, but the salmon was very well cooked. The waitress was extremely nice to me as I was eating by myself. This makes a great trip for a solo traveler and I would like to return. I had a half price coupon for two nights but I plan on coming back.

Room Tip: The Victorian Bedroom is a good value and is large and sunny.

We stayed at the Inn at 202 Dover for our anniversary weekend. We were in the DC area from Dallas TX on a business trip and wanted a relaxing side trip away from the busy city. The Inn was perfect, and Ron and Shelby were wonderful hosts, as were all their service staff. My husband isn't a huge fan of B&Bs, but even he was delighted with the quality and privacy and quiet elegance of this Inn and the charming town of Easton. He called it "peaceful and elegant". The period furnishings and architecture were perfect. The short walk to the charming downtown area was a delight. I can't say enough about the wonderful food at the Peacock for breakfast and dinner. Every bite was amazing, clearly one of the best restaurants on the Eastern Shore and rivals that of any high-end establishment in the major cities. (Oh, and PS: it's worth a trip if only for the jacuzzi baths!!! Ahhh!!)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Victorian Room but next time we will splurge for one of the full suites to have a b...

We were able to get a good rate through a discount website.
We were able to stay in the Safari suite.
I liked the fact you could make the room dark or light and the Sherry on the table nice touch. Ron came in to fix our tv. The steam bath and jacuzzi were wonderful.
We had the poached pear and frattata one day. We had the fruit cup and French toasted croissant with orange sauce the next day for breakfast.
both Ron and Shelby are very attentive to their clients requests and will be more than willing to give you tips about the area, including art galleries.
They have spent a lot of time and money on this home to make you feel comfortable.
the surroundings are very beautiful.
Although it was very hot outside the AC kept the room cool.

Room Tip: Only four Suites. Safari and English suites are largest.

Simply put, the Inn at 202 Dover was the most complete, most enjoyable B&B/Inn experience I think I've ever had. I've been staying in B&B's and inns all over the country for the past 15+ years and every detail at the Inn at 202 Dover was just perfect... from the spacious, luxurious rooms (we loved the Safari Room) to the wonderful dining (both breakfast and dinner were excellent), it was exactly what you'd want it to be. The entire property is gorgeous and welcoming... with those little touches that make a stay like this "5-star" (cookies in your room every evening, a nice decanter of quality Calvados in your room at all times, and more). And to top it all off, Ron and Shelby are excellent hosts – helpful, friendly, and genuinely cool people. It was a pleasure to swap stories with them throughout our stay – not to mention the pleasure of enjoying one of Ron's perfect Manhattans at cocktail hour. Don't ask yourself whether you should stay here... ask yourself how soon you can get away and enjoy this amazing spot.

Room Tip: The Safari Room was amazing... spacious, luxurious and private.
