“Punches above its weight”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Three great things about this Inn.

1. It is nestled in a corner of the Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area. This 5600 acre multi-use facility is comprised of beautiful rolling hills of meadow and forest accented by the Big Elk creek. It is haven for wildlife, birders, bikers, hikers, and horsemen.

2. It is a Country Inn right out of the English countryside with a warm and inviting coziness. After you've worked up an appetite at the Fair Hill MRMA enjoy a roaring fire and a very nice selection of wines.

3. The staff are equal to the task, providing friendly and courteous service buttressing a kitchen that provides a very fine dining experience. Local Secret: Try to book a table for the annual Burns Supper celebrating the Scottish poet Robert Burns.

“A gem of a restaurant”
Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

This place is not for bargain seekers but for those who are looking for a special dining experience. The house itself dates back to 1764 and positively oozes charm, due in no small part to the tasteful attention to detail in its decoration. That spirit carries over to the excellent service and a menu that's carefully chosen to delight every palette. They use their own fresh home grown produce wherever possible - possibly the tastiest carrots I've ever had! The selection of old fashioned cocktails would make any Mad Men fan drool. Try the Bergstrom Vineyards Cumberland pinot noir from Oregon. The staff do their utmost to make your dining experience the finest ever. I've nothing but glowing comments about this charming countryside restaurant. I can't recommend this find enough.

“Ambitious and tasty food”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

Fair Hill Inn is a bit out of place in Cecil County. Truly fine dining. Inventive chefs, cooking local food as much as they can. Lots of house made charcuterie. Menus change frequently and match the season.

I read reviews on this site complaining of small portions. This isn't a diner or a truck stop. Portions are fine. Service is fine. Food is great.

“Cant wait to go back...”

Phil is a detail oriented, extremely talented chef and owner. Him and Brian understand food, wine and the farm to table culture. By far, one of the best meals Ive ever had and we have been there four times now. Chefs tasting is a memorable experience.
