“One of the better restaurants in Old Town Ellicott City”
Reviewed 22 June 2013

There are a number of good restaurants and some to avoid in Old Town. Try this one for the creative cocktails, house-made infused vodka, wine and beer list. They have a creative tapas menu. 4 small plates for 2 people is enough for us. Nice desserts, too.

“Wish I'd known about this place before now”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

We actually stumbled upon this looking for a place to take our foodie 15 year old for a fun birthday dinner using Open Table. What a great find!

The concept of small plates isn't new, but chef Matt Milani has found a way to be fresh, inventive and creative with the menu, as well as the fantastic infused vodkas and hand crafted cocktails. The fig and honey manhattan was a great item as well as the pear vodka and the pistachio vodka. They only have about, 50 different ones....

When we told the server we would probably have the left side of the menu, we weren't sure he believed us...but we really wanted to try the entire menu...

Let's start with the sriracha edamame - what a cool (actually, hot!) twist on what has become an ubiquitous starter at every restaurant in town. A special was the fried green tomatoes with lump crab...melt in your mouth delicious and the spicy aoli brought the whole thing together. A pear salad with a ginger was refreshing and perfectly balanced and the cilantro beef with cucumber will be making an appearance at my next party. We moved to the honey miso scallops which were plump and tasted fresh as the sea - and served on a cucumber salad that seemed to also have some miso in it...

Another special effect is the sous vide style of preparing food. If you've never tried it, this is one a very very very few in the area that have the ability to do so. We tried the duck with cardamom and cherries, it was outstanding. Also, the Beef Tagliata was cooked to perfection and then served on arugula with fresh parmesan reggiano shavings. ,

For dessert we tried the bananas in wontons with kahlua ice cream - a nice balance of sweet and savory, crispy and smooth. The highlight of our night was Chef coming out to speak to our son about all things culinary - really, we closed the place down, not sure he could do this earlier in the evening.

Take a trip to Ellicott City and down Tiber Alley...it will be well worth itQ

“Great Place to be on a Friday Night”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

My husband and I like to go out to dinner on Friday nights. This is a great place to go out for a fun night. The menu consists of tapas (small plates). The small plates are delicious and worth the price. They all are served made to order with fresh ingredients. I would recommend the mushroom tart and the crab dumplings. The crab dumplings have goat cheese in them and the mushroom tart is very fresh. My husband enjoyed the duck and cherries. The restaurant also has a vodka infused drink menu that is a mile long. The drinks are very good and the bar tenders are willing to go our of their way to make a great drink. It was a fun night out and I would recommend going. The only suggestion I would have is to make reservations if you can. The restaurant fills up quickly and even though the bar is fun, if you want a table, it would be a good idea to make reservations. Enjoy!

“Great place for an adults night out”
Reviewed 29 March 2013

This place does not cater to kids which is a welcome change from most restaurants. I like kids but it is nice to know there are some places you can still go for a night out and not have to deal with a table full of fussy toddlers right next to you.

“Expected More”
Reviewed 20 January 2013

This place came highly recommended so we were disappointed to have such an average experience. Food was overpriced, so were the drinks. Peculiar obsession with fusion everything even ketchup. We ordered sliders and didn't get ketchup because we didn't order the fusion ketchup?!
If you can make a meal out of average appetizers this Is the place for you. Bing money.
Place was almost empty at dinner time. We should have known better.
