There's not too much variety in accommodation just south of Bristol. Battleaxes is a hotel/ pub and restaurant; smallish, on the road between Nailsea and Portishead. Big, newly furnished rooms; elegant shower room with brilliant shower. Downstairs is a large dining room and bar - beautiful floors of local stone, good food, pleasant wait staff. We were a family party of seven, a bit excited after not seeing each other for six months or so - and the atmosphere was perfect. They fed us and let us chat, making sure we didn't run out of anything. Plenty of parking.
