“Nice little place…”
Reviewed 5 February 2013

Rode the Western Maryland Scenic Train up from Cumberland and ate lunch here. The chicken sandwich was really tasty; all white meat breast. Good food and very friendly people. Great view. The fried chicken looked really good, but I was going on a bike ride and didn’t want to overdo it. Outside is a little shack that also takes orders and has ice cream. Nice little place in Frostburg right next to the Train Depot. The Great Allegheny Passage is just down the hill...

Kind of a funky place with college kids working but we enjoyed our time here very much.
Paid about $75 a night for three nights in September. Smallish rooms, an invigorating walk up the hill to downtown, which was very enjoyable. The trail is excellent both directions. I would stay here again and explore Cumberland and the area a bit more.

Room Tip: We stayed at the point at the stairs that made a little corner in the tight parking lot so we could...

At the lunch break during the turnaround for the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad day trip, we were surprised to find that there were five stories of steps between us and the city of Frostburg. (should have read the Trip Advisor reviews!). Luckily, the Trail Inn Cafe right across from the station provided a nice lunch and a perfect view of the turntable used to turn the steam engine around. Fries and chicken wings (Wanda's sweet hot) were fabulous! Many beer selections that were served ice cold. They even had wine! We had delicious ice cream cones. Next time I'll avoid the burger and stick with chicken options. There are several outdoor seating areas, as well as indoor seating at the counter. All servers were extremely friendly. Prices were very reasonable: about $6 for a burger and fries and about $2.50 for an ice cream cone.

Four guys stayed here on our way to DC from Boston Pa. We rented the Liberty room a "bunk house" style room with eleven single beds. The showers, toilet rooms and washer and dryer were in the same building and it was very comfortable and convenient. My wife would not have wanted to stay here but she sometimes has things to complain about at the Four Seasons. Went into town and had dinner so can't comment on food.

Room Tip: Very inexpensive and convenient.

I only camped and ate here. Camping was quiet, although close enough to town. Shower was clean. Soap and towel included which was great and cheaper than a Pennsylvania State Park.

Food in restaurant just ok. Seems like only main courses were fried food and my chicken spent much time in the fryer.

Rooms aren't like a chain hotel, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good when the kitchen was stocked. Despite a limited menu, they were out of common items on two of our three day stay.

We stayed here 2 nights (Out and back) during a bicycle trip on the GAP Trail. The hotel is right off the bike trail, can't miss it. We had a room with a small sofa. The room was very comfortable. We slept soundly both nights. The inn offers a restaurant. Breakfast comes with the room. We also tried the Bobcat Blast ice cream, which was delicious. Everything in the room worked fine--coffee maker, refrigerator, etc.

Room Tip: Call ahead for reservations on weekends.
