Went to can pep with some friends for dinner...food was poor, greasy and expensive...they give you bread and olives without you asking then charge you for it..and even have the cheek to add a 10% tip on for themselves..even though the service was slow and unprofessional. I decided to pay the bill without complaining as I thought this review would be a better option...avoid this overrated, outdated place at all costs..rubbish.

I stopped at Ca’n Pep in sa Rapita on 26 August for dinner. I was there last 15 or more years ago. The place has grown in size. Ca’n Pep now occupies three (or four) seafront buildings.

If you dine early, like we did, reservation is not required. However, if you wish to dine after 8.30/9 PM reservation is essential.

We got a lovely table outdoor on the terrace overlooking the sea. There’s a road between the terrace and the sea, but traffic is bearable at all times.

While prices have gone up, seafood quality remained the same. Their signature dishes, the mariscada (mixed grilled shellfish) and parillada (mixed grilled fish) cost 45 and 40 euro per person. But if you love seafood, you will not care about the price.

Both shellfish and fish were of impeccable quality and tasted as if they had been fished from the sea hours before ending in our plates.

If you like, you can choose your own fish from the menu, and have it grilled to order. This will cost you anywhere between 18 and 25 euro per main course.

The wine list is not extensive, but does the job and is reasonably priced. Ca’n Pep have an extensive dessert menu, featuring homemade desserts like flan or crema catalana (crème brule).

Overall pricey, but worth every euro. Bravo Ca’n Pep.

This was by far the worst paella I have ever tasted. The seafood in the paella was overcooked and the rice was still uncooked. It was ready in about 10 minutes and seemed all the seafood was frozen. The service was just as bad. Though we were only one of three customer the waiter was cold and all too eager to get us the check and out the door.
