Now we're spoiled. We've eaten at some of the better sub places on the East Coast. The options in the California/Great Mills/Lexington Park Maryland area however are limited and disappointing in comparison.
In fact the only real option is a Subway and they're at best "Meh". They're not good, they're not bad...they're just "Meh".
So when we saw a new sub shop opening and one that was *just* subs we were excited.
If you're a person who is looking for a cold sub such as the ones you can get from a Jersey Mike's or other similar sandwiches, this may not be what you are looking for. They do hot subs where the meat is sitting in slow cookers and bathing in their own juices. As I said, it was not what we were hoping for since we crave a Jersey Mike's sub. But it was very good and darn tasty.
Pros: These guys are busy busy BUSY! But they are a good team and while they're usually packed with orders, they still manage to get food out in amazing times and with minimal errors (they forgot my pickle once but they made good on my next visit). The sandwiches are thick and they do not skimp on the meat. This is a sub that will fill up and not with bread or by making you pay for extra meat like Subway...they will satisfy the inner carnivore. And since it is a chain founded by firefighters and supporting firefighters...not only do you get a full belly but you get the warm fuzzies knowing that some of the proceeds to to those brave souls that rush in where even fools fear to tread.
Cons: Only one. If you're not used to this style of sub it can be a little odd of an experience at first. Generally not bad, but certainly not what you may have been expecting.
