Stopped by after an exausting trip. Ate outdoors in the garden. Service was excellent and so was our salads. We were too tired for anything heavier & it really fit the bill, by adding their blackened salmon. Awsome!

Visited Tark's recently for a quick dinner with family before vacation. It was a a beautiful evening, so we ate outside. We ordered the bruchetta appetizer, which was full of chunked tomatoes and great seasoning! We both ordered the crab cake sandwiches and they were great! Just the right amount of seasoning, just the right size, cooked to perfection and on a wonderfully small, chewy roll - excellent!

Tark's Grill is in Green Spring Station (great shopping, by the way) and offers a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere with great food. The Club sandwich is so large it can be shared. It is a little on the dry side but mayo is provided and each guest can adapt the sandwich to his or her taste. The marinated grilled Chicken sandwich is delightful. The crème brulée is out of this world and the double expresso is excellent. Quiet place with easy conversation between guests and flawless service.

My family has eaten at Tarks several times a year since it opened. Until recently, we never had a bad experience. But this was a very bad one.

My son picked Tarks to celebrate his 20th birthday. He was not happy when he discovered that what he wanted to eat was no longer on the menu. The menu on the web site was out of date by almost a year. Note to Management (This was a very poor showing. Your website should be updated on a regular basis)

At the outset, the waitress never came back to the table to advise what could and could not be eaten as two members of our party have food allergies. We had asked her to check with the kitchen. The manager upon hearing this went and checked himself.

Some of my son's entre' was soggy and cold. The waitress was too busy running around in the back of the restaurant to be bothered to check on our food. We finally were able to catch the eye of another waiter who found our waitress and sent her over. My son's food was replaced.

Other missteps:

The Waitress never came by to see if our drinks or water needed to be refilled. We had to ask other wait staff throughout the evening to bring refills.
It took more than 15 minutes for her to bring the bill after we asked for it and then I had to find her to have her put the charge through because she disappeared again.
Then the most egregious thing occurred. When she brought back the charge so I could sign it, in a sarcastic voice stated, "It has been a pleasure waiting on you tonight". If I could, I would give this waitress a negative score. She does not even deserve one circle and basically ruined what should have been a hapy and fun occasion,

Tark's is not a restaurant on the Baltimore beaten path...that is it is not at Fell's Point or on the Inner Harbor. However, if you are staying in the Towson area, it is definitely worth locating. The Lindsay's Chopped Salad is delicious and a terrific take on a staple salad. The crab soup is fabulous. The iceberg wedge is a perfect equation of lettuce, dressing and some do the best lardon outside of France. Wine list is limited by California tastes but there are some excellent options to match the ambitions of this American bistro.
