My husband and I got a room w/a Jacuzzi. We did not want it, but it was the last room available. We had driven almost 4 hrs and were exhausted. At @ 9:30p, I was getting ready to retire and the light over the Jacuzzi went on by itself. I shut it off. As I was reading in bed, the Jacuzzi went on by itself. We hadn't used it or touched it in any way. My husband went to the front desk, the young man came in, fiddled w/it and said it should be fine. My husband retired and about 20 min later it went on again. My husband go up, dressed and went to the front desk. This time he got the maintenance man, who worked on it & said it definitely should not go back on. At 1a, in the room next to ours, a violent argument broke out, filling the air w/foul language & slamming of the door. After 45 min, I tried to call the front desk, but the phone wouldn't connect to it. My husband used a different phone, told them & it stopped for 15 min, only to begin again. We tried to sleep w/the pillows over our head. It didn't help much and we spend a restless night. To top it off, the Jacuzzi came on AGAIN. The next morning, we told them of our displeasure & informed them we were paying for the room in which we got no much needed rest. They told us they could only give us 10% off--which they had already given us as AAA members. We told them we were not satisfied w/that & someone else at the desk said the most they could do was give us 20% w/o the owner's authorization & he would not be in until the next day, Monday. We had no choice but to accept that & wait to speak w/him. My husband tried four times to reach him over the next week and he never called back. Our credit card company would not take the charge off because we had stayed the night. Where were we supposed to go in the middle of the night--we are senior citizens besides the fact we were in an unfamiliar town. Comfort Inns are all privately owned, which we didn't know, since it was our first stay with them and definitely our last. Never again! What a rude owner, not to at least call to apologize for the haunted Jacuzzi.
