I was expecting more with all the great reviews but it was just okay. We stayed in a poolside room and it was very small and dark. There were only 2 pillows on both beds so that means the 4 of us only had one pillow and when we asked for four more they only gave us two. However, it is clean and a great location at the end of the boardwalk. You get to use the Dunes Manor hotel's ameneties which is cool but a little inconvenient having to walk over. I think I'd rather pay extra and stay at their hotel next time.

Room very small, but clean. We got here early and could not check in until 3:00 even though many rooms were ready. No space for a family of 4. Good location to boardwalk, though. Just okay. Would not recommend for a long stay. Restaurant food just okay. Overpriced, and not that good.

Let me start by saying this is the best location in Ocean City. I have stayed here before and being at the end of the boardwalk and within short walking distance to everything it can't be beat. The place is more run down then I remembered from a few years ago. We had no water pressure in the shower at all (could not get the sand off). I mentioned this when we were leaving and the front desk said I should have called to have the shower head replaced but not sure this would have worked anyway. It was not as clean and the refrig. had rust all over it and food was splashed everywhere. Housekeeping did not vacuum the sandy carpet one of the days. But all said I do like this place and would stay again.

Room Tip: Stay on 3rd floor or higher for a good view.

Loved The Dunes! We stay there every summer for 3-4 nights, in a one-bedroom patio apartment. Everything is clean, you feel safe and it's in a great location - one step away from the boardwalk at 27th Street.

The furnishings are typical hotel-type furnishings. The kitchenettes are a little dated but the housekeeping service is wonderful.

The one bedroom patio apartment is in the building facing oceanfront. TRUE oceanfront. The 1st level units do not have an ocean view but you can see the nice grassy dune and you have a big patio area, which is fenced in - great for the little kids who want to play outside. If you move up to the 2nd floor and above, you have great ocean views, but don't have the patio. You have the big balcony instead. BIG balcony. We like the patio because we don't have to drag the sandy beach chairs thru the unit.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Compared to what is offered at the busy section of the boardwalk, you get alot more for your money. The office staff is great and the housekeeping staff do a good job. I can't STAND when maids do a lazy job ... you won't find that at The Dunes.

The pool was nice too, small but nobody was even in it all weekend. If you are around the main building/pool/office area before 10 a.m. you will find a hubub of activity - people cleaning the pool, the concrete surround, picking up trash. They have pride in this place. I recommend it.

Room Tip: If your feet hurt with lots of walking ...... catch the tram next to The Dunes and take it to the ve...

Stayed 2 nights poolside and 1 night oceanfront. Rooms basically the same except the oceanfront room was much larger and had a kitchenette. Hotel seems well run and the staff is courteous and accommodating. Rooms were clean and had basic necessities. Location was excellent - away from the noise of the boardwalk but within a minutes's walk. I would definitely recommend the oceanfront rooms over the poolside ones. For the additional expense you get more space and can do easy meals in your room to save the difference in what you pay for oceanfront.

Nothing fancy, but great price and great location. Clean, clean, clean! Beds are not very comfortable, but for a few nights it was fine.

Our first visit to Ocean City and I had no idea it was the sand soccer championships. 6,000 Tweens running around. I was so happy when I realized that we were nowhere near all the crowds and kids and sand soccer fields as far as the eye could see at the south side of the beach. The Dunes is the first motel after the boardwalk ends. A fabulous location and great for the price. Near to all the local attractions, plus all the motel guests have access to the Dunes Manor Hotels indoor/outdoor pool, restaurant and beachside bar n grill. The room is quaint but the oceanfront efficiency fit a family of 5 perfectly. The furniture is dated but the room was clean and the full kitchen was entirely stocked with ice trays, cooking utensils, flatware, dishes, dishdrain, pots, pans and juice pitcher. Perfect for picky eaters like my kids. I was able to cook their favorites and save some money at the same time. Remember to pack your own coffee filters. If you stay more than one night they do clean the rooms make beds vacuum and give more towels. Bring your own as well. We went to and from the beach and pool several times and each time it was nice to have a clean towel to dry my little ones. Bring hand soap they only have that yucky hotel bar soap. It was great! We arrived early and received our parking pass and went exploring. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was such a lovely stay, we will be back for years to come. Perfect for the price!!!!
