We were trying to go to the crab bag, but the wait was 45 minutes. We ended up at Higgins. There was no wait and that should have been a tip off. We were seated right away. The menus offered a variety of seafood. We got some steamed mussels for appetizer - overcooked, steamed clams- average, and mozzarella sticks- cold. Ordered crab cakes for dinner - mostly bread and lacked flavor. Everything took a long while to come out - except for the drinks. Pick another restaurant. The reviews for the same restaurant on 33rd street seemed better, but I would recommend you stay away from the chain.

Menu food tastes like it came from a cafeteria. Crabs were light and tasted re-heated. I didn't have a ruler handy, but I believe we received smaller crabs than we paid for. One person at our table seemed to be invisible. The server forgot her drinks and her salad, then seemed surprised that she was upset by his service! Never again!

Ok, so this might not be the pinnacle of fine-dining, but when we're in the Ocean City, MD area, this is the "go to" crab house that we hit. It's been consistently good the times we've visited.

Let me say that the "sides" are just as good as the crabs. Tasty fries, hushpuppies, cole slaw, corn, and especially the fried chicken. The fried chicken is as good as any I've had. (And it's free and "all you care to eat" when you order the crabs.)

And the crabs are good. Very few "bad" crabs when they pile them on your table. (You know, the ones that probably died a slow death before getting steamed but were cooked anyway and when you open them up have mushy meat so you just throw the whole thing into the bucket.) Just consistent, tasty, Old Bay smothered crabs.

So, you make a mess of yourself, the place is a bit on the grimy side, but you get your fill of tasty food for a reasonable price. I like this place a lot!

This institution claims to be THE place for all you can eat crabs! Boy do they know how to do it right! Starting you off with their hush puppies, covered with powered sugar, is a fancy twist on this southern staple. If you order the all you can eat crabs, they first serve you a plate of French fries, cole slaw and one piece of chicken. After all you came here hungry and cracking your own crabs is a slow way to curb that appetite. I think it is just genius! (Just, don't fill up on fries!). The platter of crabs they serve you comes with medium sized crabs for the menu price. You can upgrade to the larger size crabs for $5.00 more. Do it, it's soooo worth it! The crabs are covered with plenty of Old Bay, (spicy), and on the platter is a grill cooked un-shucked ear of corn, (a little starchy). But we came here for the crabs, and plentiful they are!!! Sweet and delicious. There is absolutely no hurry or pressure to finish. The atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more inviting!
