“Very good lunch”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Went for a late lunch today, 2 PM. Only patrons in restaurant (It's a great beach day!). Server was friendly, and very efficient. Refilled my ice tea several times without any wait even tho' she was busy restocking the beer refrigerators. My husband had the grouper sandwich special. Delicious large serving of fresh fried grouper, with all the fixings, on a roll. Served with side of very good, herb seasoned French fries. I had the mahi mahi spinach wrap which had slaw, and spicy mayo on it. Very nicely seasoned, just spicy enough. Ordered with the sweet potato salad side. Very nice combo of diced sweet potatoes, black bear, onion, corn, and a mild dressing. It would be nice if they offered a side other than the 3 potato options for those of us on low carb diets, but the sweet potato was good. Very small restaurant, would want reservations for dinner.

“Great Find”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

The service here was great. We had made a reservation and were warned ahead of time that if it was raining, they may not be able to seat us right at our reservation time because indoor seating was limited. It did rain, but there was a table waiting for us when we arrived. We started with a glass of wine, a beer and a coffee. (No liquor is served here, but the wine and beer selections are good.) We shared an order of the lump crab toast which was delicious. It was like a baguette sliced and topped with the perfect amount of creamy crab dip. For entrees, we ordered shrimp and grits, seared tuna and scallops with grit cakes and succotash. The shrimp and grits were good, but are not traditional shrimp and grits. The grits are fried grit cakes. They aren't bad, but the dish lacks the creamy goodness of traditional shrimp and grits. It is also somewhat dry. The tuna was oredered rare and came out more medium. This was probably a good thing, as the edges were a bit fishy; not enough to send back the dish or not eat it, but definitely noticeable. The scallop dish was the best dish of the three. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious and the succotash was flavorful. We wanted to try the brownie bread pudding for dessert, but they were out. We'll use this as a reason to visit again. The prices were very reasonable for the large portion sizes.

“My go to place”

Never a bad meal. Burgers are perfection, the steak wrap enough for two or more people. Great scallops, crab and corn chowder yummy...beer and wine only... But it's all about the good here!

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

This small cafe is absolutely wonderful. The food is so delicious, the atmosphere quaint and best of all it is in walking distance from our condo. We have had numerous lunches and dinners here. All have been delicious. Our favorites: fried green tomato blt, scallops and tuna with avocado corn salsa.
Love the outdoor seating. We can even bring our little westie. They brought her out a bowl of water. The owner/chef personally came out and helped our daughter with her gluten free diet. Very accommodating and the food is the best!
