We stayed at the Bonita Beach Hotel with 2 children (9 yr old and 20 month old) We arrived at 3 pm thinking we could check in but unlike normal hotels the check-in time was 4 pm. Partly my fault for not looking. We were told our room was not ready yet. So we headed to boardwalk and got something to eat. Checked back in at 4 and was sent to room 212. Luckily we did not take any bags up yet because once we entered our room and my son took off his shoes, his socks were immediately soaked. The carpet was soaking wet!!! We called front desk right away and they sent up maintenance immediately. He informed us that the guest who just checked out left bathtub running all night and it overflowed. Hmm... Shouldn't the hotel have checked to make sure room was up to par before letting people check in? And the toilet seat was broken in that room too. I had to tell the maintenance guy. The front desk switched our room to 216 with no problem. The beds are ok. We had 2 queen beds in our room. I've slept on better and I've had worse. Sheets seemed a little small for the bed along with blanket. Two rips in comforter on the one bed. A/C unit is kinda noisy but if you let it run all night on fan it drowns out all other noises. When people in room above were taking a shower it sounded like a waterfall running down our wall between bed and bathroom. There was a microwave, sink, and fridge in our room. Sink came in handy for washing the babies cup. Fridge was a plus to have but was set too cold and things froze. Room was plenty big for the four of us. Housekeeping was nothing fancy. They made the beds, took trash, and hung new towels. A lot of people had put their trash in the hall outside their door along with a pile of wet towels. It looked trashy. There is a trash chute at the end of the hall by the steps. I like the fact there were steps to go out to the parking area and you didn't have to take elevator and go through lobby. We didn't use the pool but looked nice and felt warm. We liked how they had covered parking. They also have a work out room, which we didn't use but went in to check out. Hotel was pretty quiet for the most part. Not directly on beach but was only a few steps to get there. Major plus for us that there was a Dunkin Donuts directly across the street!! Hotel pictures on website do it justice. Not bad for the price. Plus if you book online you can pick from some free vouchers to add. We would probably stay here again if our favorite hotel (quality inn 54th street) was booked :)
