We stayed in the off-boardwalk building to save some money. This is a great value. Prices are well below many of the other hotels in Ocean City in season, and the place was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed our stay. We come for the beach attractions and don't need a 5 star hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay on the boardwalk for the view. Stay in the other buildings for some savings.

Listen...do you go to the beach for the hotel? If you do...book the Hilton...but if you just want a clean bed and a shower, book the Sahara. My husband & I have stayed here twice now (2nd floor in the oceanfront buliding). The rooms are average with small bathroom, service is friendly , cafe has great breakfast, and the prices are very reasonable. Housekeeping could do a little better, but our bed was clean & comfy, towels were fresh & clean everyday....we didn't see any bugs. If you cannot do stairs, book first floor in the ocean front building because there is no elevator. You can't beat the location or the view ! We have heard mixed opinions on the Sahara, but we have had only good experiences with them so far.
On this trip we also heard great things about The Spinnaker Hotel next door...we will try it next year...to be cont........

Room Tip: Book oceanfront if you can....

We had stayed in the Tower Building this past weekend...23-26th. The staff was very friendly and for the price, the hotel was good. We didn't see any bugs, the carpets were clean, the bathroom was clean and the room was spacious. The tower building has an elevator and the cafe is there too. The cafe was really good..we had the crab omelet and choco chip pancakes! But back to the room, it is the perfect location and we were hardly in the room since it was a block from the boardwalk. The only cons were that the beds were a bit uncomfortable, towels were rough and TV was small. But the hotel was right around the corner from Phillips Restaurant, Sunsations, CVS and the boardwalk! It's in a prime location and is a good hotel for a short stay with plans to be out and about.

This is an old hotel/motel, so you won't get any frills here. We only stayed one night, and you are at the beach, so you won't be in the room long. It was clean, but the room did have a 'armpit-like' smell when we first walked in. It may have been from the air conditioner. There was a stain on my bed sheet, but you could tell it was old and the sheets had been washed... it would be nice if they threw those out. The bathroom was clean and updated with new tiles in the shower; tub and sink a nice blue, but overall was clean. Can't complain too much for the price, and a decent location, right off the boardwalk, so we didn't have to drive. Ice machine costs 25 cents, but you can fill up a small 6pack type cooler for about 50 cents. They have a cafe, which we didn't go to, but had a long line for breakfast, so it must have been decent.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Sahara in OC. Great location, price and friendly staff. Thanks, Barbara, for a nice clean room, and your pleasant greetings. The nights were quiet, the air conditioning worked well and there was no musty smell. What more could you want at the shore. You could even eat in the restaurant in the tower building. Great food and prices. Beware portions are large, but never fear, you can take leftovers back to put in frig for later time. Then you can reheat if you have to in microwave.
All in all we enjoyed are stay and hope to return again.

If you are disabled there are no elevators and about 25 steps to gert to the thrid floor. For what we paid for this room it was a bad deal.
1) not disablity friendly
2) had to pay for ice
3) nothing in the room EX: coffee pot, mini fridge, our littler frezzer did not work put a soda bottle of water in there to freez and take to the beach the next day was not even pieces of ice
4) all you got was 4 tiny bars of soap,
5) paid over 450.00 for two nights NOT WORTH IT...........
one good thing about the room was we had oceanfront and the view was nice.
WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN.

Planned a last minute trip with a friend for thurs aug 16th-18th, it was the first place we found that had a room available for both nights at a good price and they didn't make us stay a 3rd night like some places for the weekend. we were on the 2nd floor of the tower building a block back from the beach. The room was clean and a decent size for the 2 of us. We had a great view of the street and a sliver of a view of the ocean. Its close to fish tails and phillips which was convenient for us. The staff were friendly and courteous. The only bad things was the bed. The mattress was really uncomfortable, like sleeping on a brick. Other than that it was good for a couple nights, would def stay again if needed.
