As a returning guest of the past several years, We have to say we were a bit disappointed in our stay this time. We noted several small, but still notable, changes in service since our last viist. Although our room was cleaned everyday the soaps, shampoos, and shower caps were NEVER replenished during our 4 night stay. Upon waking on our first morning we found that we didn't have caffeinated coffee and I had to go out to the service personnel in the hall and ask for it. The food was still fantastic, but when we ordered our longtime favorite items the prortions were not as generous as in the past. The hallways were not as clean as in past stays.

We still love the Clarion OC, but have to say that for the cost per night we may have to reconsider other accomodations in the future.

This hotel is wonderful! Had a few problems but they were corrected,suffered some because of it and lost time from my vacation activites but overall it worked!

This was our 2nd year in a row staying here. Love the fact that each room has an ocean view, and little balcony to watch the sunrise from. Also, has its own private beach, just a few yards from the hotel! Pet-friendly, and we always take our kitty along with us. Has TWO pools, one outside and one inside...your choice. Horizons restaurant is DELICIOUS! Best breakfast buffet, dinners, and seafood buffet around, I think! AND, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Oh, and their prime rib is KILLER good! So nice, you can cut it with a fork! Outdoor bar, for when you're hangin' by the pool...indoor "sports bar" (it's a "raw bar" too), gift shop, and jewelry store too! Neat that you don't have to really leave the hotel if you don't want to...for rainy days, or just lazy days! Pizza places are great in the area (and everywhere!) and most restaurants nearby deliver or at the very least, have take-out. We love the Clarion O.C. and Ocean City in general. Sad to be back in PA, but nice to know it's waiting for us when we return! Rooms are spacious, with fridge and microwave...but this year, we had problems with our microwave not heating up...and the "new" one they gave us didn't do much better! BUT, we survived! So what if it took 15 minutes to heat up 1 slice of pizza! We were on vacation and not in a hurry! HA! If you have a little one and/or a pet...I HIGHLY recommend the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel. Oh yeah, the rooms are always so quiet...so must be that they're really well insulated or something! Always so quiet at night, and one of the few hotels I can actually SLEEP in! Hope this helps. Don't expect a "Trump" hotel here, but DO expect a decent price, convienience, and really...you're not in your room long enough to dislike it when in Ocean City, MD! Happy vacationing friends! First time staying here been coming to OC for 12 yrs I booked online and the price was right we asked for a upper level and the north side of building, wasn't a problem flr 15. great! The room was dated and had alot of wear , the carpet looked clean didn't have to wear shoes in room the sheets and pillows were clean also, room was for the most part clean except for the large mark next to bed that was never cleaned rt 1505. housekeeping came to clean room at about 9am little early for me but we should have let them room wasnt cleaned till after 4 pm after calling 2 times. the bar areas were nice and well kept the bands were good gave a real vacation atmosphere for OC outdoor pool was ok little small the indoor pool area was filthy the glass atrium looked like it gets cleaned maybe once a year may stay again TO many dogs everywhere

We appreciate your review; feedback from guests is always welcomed, as it makes us aware of areas that may need a little more attention. I’m glad that even though you had a few issues, you were able to enjoy your overall stay.

We do try to make every effort to clean the rooms at the guests’ convenience if housekeeping cannot get into the room during the regularly scheduled cleaning time; however, I do apologize that you had to call twice to have housekeeping come to the room. I’ve sent a copy of your review to the Director of Housekeeping so she can address this with her staff. I’ve also let her know about the stain in 1505 so that can be corrected as well.

Beginning this winter, we will be renovating half of our guestroom floors with new drapes, carpeting, and flat screen TVs. We plan on renovating the other half next winter.

I’m sorry for the appearance of the atrium doors. We do try to keep up with the cleaning of them, but with the salty ocean air, they don’t always look as good as we’d like them to look. We will definitely give some thought as to how to do a better job with them.

Finally, we are a pet-friendly hotel, so there are pets enjoying vacations with their owners. If any animal is ever aggressive, or being particularly rowdy, please report the incident to a staff member immediately.

Third stay with this facility and this was the absolute worse experience imaginable. The linens were torn and tattered; the bathtub was stopped up on the first night; and the toilet overflowed on the second night and three separate calls were made to the front desk requesting first-toilet maintenance, then clean up of the towels we used to contain the toilet water in the room, and finally a request for clean towels to bathe with that evening. In addition, the children had to use the bathroom in the lobby until maintenance came to fix the overflown toilet.

I do apologize for the issues during your stay with us. You should not have had to call the front desk three times regarding the overflowing toilet; your needs certainly should have been anticipated as far as towels and clean up are concerned.

Regarding the tub being stopped up, unfortunately sometimes guests unknowingly track sand from the beach into the tubs which causes drainage issues. We have these issues addressed by a professional twice a year to minimize the tubs getting stopped up.

I’ve passed along your comments to both our Front Desk Manager and the Director of Housekeeping so they can review with their staff appropriate customer service protocol, and remind them that we do not place tattered linens in our rooms. I appreciate your feedback, and we certainly hope to be able to serve you again in the near future.

As a repeat guest, again enjoyed our week at the beach. BUT you really need to have coffee in the lobby or Terrace (on a cart outside Horizon DR?) for the early risers like me. Coffee in the room only means waking up wife as early as me. Not Good!

If you weren’t made aware of this, I apologize, but we do offer self-serve coffee in Horizons Restaurant beginning at 7:00 a.m. on the North Bar. For those who rise even earlier, having coffee available in the lobby or on the terrace level is a great idea, one we will definitely take under advisement. My family had an unexpected trip to Ocean City Maryland. We stop into thish otel with the hopes of finding a room at the last minute. We choose this hotel because we hear many good things about the Clarion Brand. The room we stayed in had mold on the ceiling and Dog poop stains on the carpet. We didn't know the hotel allowed pets. We first figured that out because of the smell in the hall way. We called around to other hotels but could not find any open rooms. We were stuck. We had no choice but to stay in this dirty room. At check out I told the CS rep who checked us out. She wrote on a scrap piece of paper mold on ceiling, gross stains on carpet. That left my family with the impression that our complaint was only good enough for a scrap piece of paper. We were very diappointment. We will never stay at a clarion. We plan on telling friends and family about our experience. We only stayed one night and moved onto the Dunes Manor Hotel. Which was great. Don't remember the room number, Tried to forget as much about this hotel as possible, We were on the third floor.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review; all feedback from guests is important, even if it points out areas where we need improvement. First, let me assure you that we take every piece of constructive criticism and every complaint very seriously. The Guest Services Agent at the front desk should have offered you a comment card to fill out, but perhaps she wrote on an available piece of paper until she could notify a supervisor.

Mold is unacceptable. You don’t indicate in your review whether you contacted the front desk or management about the mold and stain after you saw your room. If you had, we certainly would have made every attempt to correct the issue or move you to another room if available. Although we are a pet-friendly hotel, the third floor is not one of our pet floors. There may be a stain on the carpeting, but it is not a pet stain.

Beginning this winter, we will be renovating all rooms on seven of our floors to include flat screen TVs, new drapes, and carpeting. Our plan is to renovate the remaining floors the following winter.

I hope you decide to give us another chance, and if so, please call me when you’re ready to make a reservation. I will make sure you receive the best possible rate and accommodations available.
