My girlfriend, son, and I wanted to enjoy a few days in Chionteguge Island amd thought we would do it on a budget. Well that was a mistake at this place. The rooms were filthy, the staff were very rude, and our room was never cleaned. I would highly recommend spending a few more bucks on a nicer place. The best part was I found cheaper hotels that are much nicer, and this place will not refund your money after the first night. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Room was clean. Pool was clean. Coffee pot in room could not be used because had the wrong lid. But there was coffee in breakfast room off lobby. Staff friendly enough. Ice machines empty. Good enough for a nights rest for the price.

You would think that a provider of comfort on a busy highway, especially in a resort area would have more pride in the service they provide the public, its obvious that these folks have none, the cleanest place in the complex is the lobby, i was instructed to go around the side of the building which looked like a narrow alley to locate our room on the second floor, the grounds where ungroomed and feral cats everywhere, upon entering our room there was trash on the floor, used soap in the shower, towels yellow from god knows what, holes in the drapes from moths. Just plain nasty

We stopped here while traveling north from Wilmington NC to NYC. The nearby Holiday Inn Express was much more expensive. It was cheap so I figured it was a chain so how bad could it be? We got there about 6 pm. There were 3 other cars in an otherwise deserted hotel. The parking lot had weeds growing through cracks, the entrance way had tiles falling off, not even the name was on the front -- jsut a large illuminated sign... not a good first impression. The desk lady was nice enough but gave no info about anything unless asked directly. she mentioned something about the restaurant next door but suggested the fast food places up the street. The rooms had a mildew smell. The paint job was lousy and the furniture all scuffed and damaged. The chair was thread worn. The bed was made but not hotel made. There was a bucket of cigarette butts outside the room that was probably there since it was a Days Inn...whenever that was. The bathroom was scary and we were afraid to leave the car unguarded at night. There was a pool. It seemed ok. I later spoke to the manager (owner?) about breakfast and he was surprised that I asked. He asked if I had not been told at check in and I said no. He said I should have asked. Isn't it the job of the desk clerk to tell me that? The breakfast room was new and cheery but the selection of food was terrible...two choices of cereal, some donuts and some English muffins. Coffee, tea. That's all and not very appetizing. We left quickly he next morning. When got home I found what I believe is a bedbug bite on my leg. Seems to me that someone talked these folks into buying an old motel with no training and they opened it before it was ready. The steps showed rust, the railings needed a painting and the whole place was just nasty. At the time of booking, Travelocity showed "Not yet rated" I assumed it was a new hotel based on the photos on the site. By the time I left, some one gave it 2 stars. On what planet??? I don't need much in a hotel, but this p[lace wasn't even what I expected from a 2 star.

Room Tip: Book the Holiday Inn Express up the road.

Dear John,
Thank You for taking the time out of your schedule to comment on your stay. I apologize that your experience was anything less than satisfying. Our goal is to not only meet the needs of each and every guest we serve, but to exceed your expectations to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Please know that your feedback is extremely important to us. Feedback such as yours assists us in improving our service and property on a daily basis. In addition, please know that your comments and issues will be addressed. Among your suggestions, we are currently looking to get new signage for our main building for easier viewing from the main highway. We are in the process of fixing the front overhang, another guest drove a budget rental truck from underneath it. Still, I understand the appearance should be the main priority and will work on it. I will also be speaking to the staff about customer service and make sure that all guests are greeted with a friendly smile. We are sorry that the hotel was not up to your standard but we will continue to try and improve.
It is our hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience during your stay and hope to see you during your next visit. If I can provide any assistance, or if you are still not satisfied with this resolution, don't hesitate to contact me directly at 410-957-3000.
Best Regards,
Hina A.

Typical of ABVI facilities, this one is clean, with no frills. Located just before the split where US 113 breaks off US 13 to lead toward the Cape May-Lewes ferry, it is an ideal place for cyclists heading north to spend the night. The ferry is 108 km away.
There is a bar & grill (Don's Chicken and Seafood) next door.
I got a great night's sleep, and was able to set a personal best the next day riding to Cape May, NJ.

My fiance and I booked a room at the Americas Best Value Inn as part of our trip to Virginia Beach because after working all day and then driving from New Jersey we figured we would stay here as a pit stop. First off the front desk staff is not very nice at all. Once we checked in he told us to go around to the back of the building and that was where the room we were staying in was. TOTAL DUMP! It was very scary because it was only us and maybe 2 other people in the whole hotel. In the room next to us, the guy must have had call girls coming in because we heard some noise for a while and then we heard a truck pull up, the door open and someone walk out. It was gross. We barely slept at all. The checkout time was 11am but we were up and out of there by 6am. Definitely dont stay here unless you want to sleep with bugs and want to hear weird things going on all night long!
