If the rating was for niceness of inn keepers, I'd give them a great rating.
There are several levels of cleaning, with sticky and dirty the worst. This place was sticky and dirty. On checking out, we found that the chair in our room had mouse droppings all over it. I understand that mice are everywhere, but the room looked like it was barely broom cleaned before our arrival. The bathroom was marginally better. I used the fridge to keep some beer, and the door handle was black from dirty hands (white fridge), and sticky along with it. The dining area is gorgeous, but hasn't seen a broom or vacuum in a long time. It's hard to eat when you question the level of cleanliness.
The breakfast was Spartan, but they did warn us of this. The coffee was served in tea cups, and didn't even get my heart to start pumping. But there's a great coffee shop a mile away.
This is one of several ventures the owners run, and their heart is obviously not in it. The grounds are unkempt, and most of the outbuilding doors were wide open. The gardens and location should make this a favorite return destination, but for us it will be a memory.
