“Fantastic”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

Every bite of every course was incredible. This included the Monkfish Saltimbocca, the very inventive special of the evening.

The Napoleon is a must. Very light and flavorful.

The service was attentive and unobtrusive.

“Consistently good Italian food”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

A small local restaurant with an unassuming storefront but an elegant interior. One can tell that this is the regular dining place for many of the diners by the way they are greeted by the owners. Because they don't take reservations there is usually a waiting time which can be spent by the bar area.

The food never disappoints, their soups of the day are generous and tasty.Their wines by the glass are reasonably priced. Their pastas are excellent, i usually order the mushroom ravioli with pistachio cream sauce, once in a while I try something different; most recently the beef short ribs with polenta, I think I may have found a new favorite. Hope we can get back there again soon.

“Great food after all these years”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

I returned to Il Pizzico after almost 16 years (moved away) and I was glad to see that the quality hasn't changed a bit. Food was great, ambience great and loved to practice my Italian with the waiters. They are also very accommodating with children.

“A Hidden Gem: between theHuge Flag and the Muffler Place”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Where I grew up, great restaurants usually stood in splendid isolation. But on "355" (Wisconsin Avenue which becomes Rockville pike, then Hungerford Rd, then Frederick Rd) body shops and car dealerships rule. So look carefully it's right before the big American Flag at a car dealership. Local landmark. It's a bit disconcerting to walk from the chaotic "Pike " into the gracious understated elegance that rivals the best downtown DC Italian spots. To me, restaurants are as my about the peaceful easy feelings they engender as about the food itself, but Il Pizzico scores high on both counts, probably accounting for it's survival in this tough neighborhood. I went for lunch, a potato and broccoli soup and smoked salmon salad, both great. The bread was not memorable, which costs them a star. Wonderful cappucino. Classy attentive service. Then back to the mean streets.

“My favorite all time!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Although we moved away years ago, this is still my favorite Italian restaurant. We have enjoyed eating here and knowing Enzo and Sandra (the owners). My favorite is the wild mushroom ravioli with pistachio cream sauce--heavenly! And the Capriccoisa salad is not to be missed. Wish we had such a wonderful place here in Georgia!!
