We found this attraction by accident by taking a wrong turn. This is one of the best history attractions we have ever been to. For $10 per person the amount of things to see is amazing. The character actors that staff the exhibits are true to period and very informative. The ship and printing press were great. Our favorite was the tobacco plantation staff never broke out of character which was great! This is a must-see attraction.

This place is very "family-friendly". There is lot of hands-on things to do plus room for the kids to roam and run. It is educational in a way kids and families can experience history dating back to the 1600's. There are buildings (replica of Maryland State House, plus homes) and a replica of the Ark/Dove which sailed from England in 1633 and landed in MD in March 1634. There are docents of all ages. Highly recommend for a family outing (picnic tables are all over the grounds).

Each December HSMC hosts what are titled Madrigal Dinners in the replica Maryland State House built in 1934, the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Maryland colony. Guests are served a wonderful meal and beverages reminiscent of centuries past by servers in period dress. They are entertained by St. Marie's Musica, an a capella group making beautiful music. A totally fantastic experience!

This place is a hidden gem. The docents are very friendly and knowledgable. It is small enough to not find it overwhelming and their programs are wonderful. It is fairly similar to Jamestown but not so far from DC area.

My boyfriend and I loved St. Mary's City. It's so historical and beautiful. The actors and actresses are so friendly and helpful. That was our first time visit in St. Mary's City and we plan on coming back here again.
