While visiting St. Michael's, Maryland, our family made the 'road-less-traveled' trip to Tilghman Island for the day. While one visitor remarked 'there's not much to do unless you like to fish,' keep in mind that's exactly the reason others may love this quaint, still untouched by progress place. You can make the drive to the furthest point of land and be surrounded by the ocean in front of you and a bird sanctuary to the rear! Select an out-of-the-way shop for a pop or relax with a bloody mary by an authentic drawbridge as the sun goes down and artists capture the pelicans and wildlife around the river. Overall, Tilghman Island is an experience you should have...even if it's only for a few hours.
