“Very pleasant stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2014

Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Exceptional music poolside by guitarist Tom Richards. His songs made the afternoon delightful, hearing him sing made us stay longer. We were going to explore the area but decided to enjoy the great surroundings. Pleasant and relaxing stay poolside and wonderful massage at the spa.

We live in the Philadelphia suburbs and this place has been our favorite (non-beach) quick getaway. Everything here is beautiful, relaxing and ideal for a great non-kid getaway. The hotel is perfect and the town of St. Michaels is so pretty. Use the hotel bikes and check it out.
Best part of the whole trip: The Adirondack chairs along the water with wine and snacks. Perfection. Looking forward to returning in a few more weeks for our Anniversary trip!

Room Tip: All are fantastic--especially ones with a balcony or patio!

We have stayed at the Perry cabin about 4 time and have always had a wonderful time. It is somewhat expensive, but worth it. Most rooms have a view of the bay. There is a historic part and a newer construction to the hotel. I enjoy both. You'll have access to a nice pool, which has food and drink service. There is also a spa (should you require additional pampering). The food is great with a great selection of wines. Shops and restaurants are within a 5 minute walking distance. There is really not that much to do, so come prepared to do a whole lot of relaxing!!

Room Tip: view of the bay

Is it expensive? Yes. But, there is really nothing like Perry Cabin anywhere in the area and you're getting a very high quality experience. For a romantic getaway it is perfect. We opted for just the room and didn't sign up for any of the meal/spa specials. We only ate one breakfast there and it was very good but the dining room atmosphere is a little stuffy for us. There are a lot of good restaurants in town and it's only a 2 minute drive or maybe 5 minute bike ride. We didn't borrow the bikes but they seem like a very convenient way to get around. Pool area is quite nice and there is food/drink service there which is very attentive. Pool area was a little crowded in the afternoon but still had space. Some people brought their kids in mid afternoon which was a little annoying. We would have thought the price point might have kept the kids to a minimum. The pool was the only place we saw kids and even then only a mild annoyance, mostly because the parents don't seem to understand there are guests who don't want to be splashed while sitting in their chairs and hear all the noise. We can get that at home.

Behind the pool the grounds are beautiful and there is a large bocce court and croquet lawn, both were good fun. But, the best feature is the large lawn overlooking the water. You can't find a similar place on the bay. Sitting in the large Adirondack chairs with a bottle of wine was divine. There is almost no boat noise. True relaxation. Our room had a view of the water but we would have preferred a balcony or patio to sit on in the morning and drink coffee. Not a big deal but we would call ahead next time and try to secure one of those rooms. All in all a great stay, St. Michaels is a great 2-4 day getaway and the location, open space, water views, attentive staff and romantic nature of Perry Cabin are top-notch

If you need to get away, secluded very quiet place, go to the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. MIchaels. Was here for a babymoon, and although it is extremely quiet, relaxation was perfect. You can kayak if you please or go on their yacht and tour around the bay. Whatever you need they have. Price is a bit steep but I assume you pay for what you get to not be bothered. Plus the food is phenomenal. Only four star four diamond restaurant in the state of Maryland. If you want a place like Montauk or the Hamptons but dont want to take the drive up to NY, come down to Maryland.

Very friendly staff. They went "the extra mile" to make us feel at home. Beautiful waterfront scenery and a strong nautical theme both in the Inn and the surrounding town made this a relaxing and informative visit. Lots of things for little kids and older ones but the middle group (11-15) may find themselves getting bored if the stay goes more than few days. Definitely a place we will come back to and I've already started recommending it to friends.

I had high hopes about this resort given the feedback from friends who had stayed there in past years as well as the very high nightly rate we were being charged. While nothing was truly awful, it turned out to be just one annoying or below standard thing after another. The hotel is quite pretty and in a lovely setting. The breakfast buffet was beautifully presented and the complimentary car service to town was much appreciated.

That's about it for the good news. Some of the problems we experienced were as follows: We were given Room 1 at check in, which is essentially directly across the hall from the bar. When we arrived, there was a raucous group having drinks in the bar. The room was poorly soundproofed and it was extremely loud in the room. Fearing that we would have to deal with this late at night (the hotel was hosting a large wedding), we asked for a different room. We were shown 2 other available rooms, one of which was insulting and both of which were in some satellite building with no real view to speak of. We opted to keep our original room as the view was lovely and we did not want to give that up. The staff is well meaning but unsophisticated. One staff member used the word "retarded" to describe something about the hotel operations. The complimentary bikes were too junky to use. The shower had poor water pressure, the bathroom sink was cracked, there were flies in the room (we only opened the patio door to go in and out - we did not leave it open), and the outdoor furniture on our patio was extremely uncomfortable. The room was pretty in a coastal preppy way and spacious enough, but it was sort of worn around the edges. Perhaps most annoying of all, the hotel made 2 startling billing errors in its favor when we went to check out (they tried to charge a nightly rate higher than the rate we signed off on at check in and included a charge for a cot which we did not use and had been told would be removed from our bill the day before).

None of the above is the end of the world, but at over $800 a night with all the taxes and the incredibly offensive 10% "resort fee," I would not recommend the hotel or stay there again. There are some other lovely properties in the area for substantially less money.

Room Tip: Room 1 is noisy given its proximity to the hotel bar, but the bar closes at 11 and the view and pati...
