We needed a weekend retreat to get away and relax from the stress of daily life. This place certainly filled the bill! The owners were wonderfully friendly and we enjoyed every minute in their company; the room was clean, beautiful, and included everything we needed; the pool was inviting;, and the view from our room and porch was the best! Not to mention the amazing breakfasts - the waffles are to die for. We could not image a better experience on Delmarva.

Room Tip: We were in the "Lighthouse Room" which is on the second floor, closes to the Pocomoke Rive...

I guess Catwomyn has said it all! Spent 3 nights there to celebrate the same friends' wedding anniversary party. Had a wonderful time. The River house Inn is a great place to stay. Rick and Dwayne, the owners, are super friendly and very helpful. The food is excellent. Even the Belgian waffles are as good as at home :o)
I would highly recommend this place and would go back again if I have the opportunity.

We spent several days at the River House Inn as part of a large group (approx. 20 people) celebrating friends' wedding anniversary. We had such a great time -- Rick and Dwayne were such wonderful hosts and I have never had such amazing breakfasts as these guys put together each morning. Pastries, waffles, almond French toast, bacon, sausage, hash browns, quiches -- it was fantastic! The property itself is great -- we stayed in the main house, in the Thebaud room, which was spacious with a large bathroom; it was very nicely decorated and immaculately clean. There are also several separate, large cottages available, and if you stay in a cottage, you can bring your dogs with you, which some of our friends did. We spent a lot of time in the pool, which was kept very clean. There is lots of room to lounge around the pool, including a covered gazebo with ceiling fan when you want some shade. You can also walk down to the river and swing in one of the swings there -- very relaxing, and pretty. We will definitely be returning here. It was certainly ideal for our large group and RIck and Dwayne really did go out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Room Tip: As noted above, if you stay in a cottage, you can bring your dog.

The Inn was lovely and clean and had a great yard down to the river and a warm pool! Rick made us a delicious breakfast and also fixed one of our bikes and even made us hard boiled eggs for a picnic. A thoughtful nice guy and a clean and friendly place.

This place is awesome. Stayed for a weekend and was blown away by the hospitality and the wonderful breakfast spread by Rick and Dwayne. Anything you wanted they would get you, no problem. They have definitely thought out large and small details for their guests. The grounds are beautiful and well kept as well as the inn. Nicely decorated rooms and lots of charm. Very accomodating. We will definitely stay there again.....hopefully soon!!!

Room Tip: we stayed in the East room. It has heat/air and very modern bathroom amenities. very comfortable a...

Every need was met. Upon arrival we were greeted by our hosts. The grounds are spacious and lovingly landscaped. Our view of the river from our second story balconey in then Lighthouse Suite was picturesque. Two sets of Canadian Geese escorted their offspring along the riverbank which invites exploration, the river held at bay by a sea wall.

Our breakfast was remarkable. Fresh Belgian Waffles, thick bacon, homemade pastries, steaming hot coffee, service with a smile and the company of other travelers who were also in awe of their good fortune.

We booked our trip for four nights which afforded us the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor living space around the pool. Beautiful weather aslo brought spring showers which didn not dampen our stay as we lounged about the pool under the oversized gazebo and build a fire in the outdoor fireplace. The following evening we spent cooking out on the grill and enjoyed yet another outdoor fire siesta.

Our early morning flight precluded a chance to enjoy breakfast again, however, when the hosts heard we would be leaving at 6 am, they said they would have crumb cake and coffee ready for at the door. As we headed off to the airport in Salisbury that morning, we had a bag full of their fresh baked crumb cake and hot coffee with cream.

Thank you for making our family trip to Snow Hill, MD such a wonderfule experience. We'll stay here every time we come to town to visit family.

Had a small family gathering and this was the PERFECT place. Wonderful food and EXCELLENT care from the owners. Beautiful old house on riverfront is everything you would expect and more. Lots of space inside and out. An outdoor pool area that invites you outdoors with couches and a huge fireplace. Sitting on the front porch just before breakfast a little brown bunny runs across the colourful garden. Minutes from beaches and wild horses.
