We enjoyed a lovely weekend at the Back Creek Inn this summer. The staff was so friendly and hospitable...even waited up for our late arrival. The Inn is so relaxing and peaceful and a perfect getaway for a low key weekend away. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. The Inn is decorated with lovely art work, most of it by Carole the owner, we even bought a piece upon checking out.
Our room was small but cozy but could use a facelift and I wasn't particularly fond of the carpeted bathroom. Everything else about our stay was wonderful.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Tansy Room, if I were to go back, I would likely try a different room.

My husband and I were visiting a son working nearby...he suggested we find a B&B on Solomon's Island. After looking over the possibilities we chose Back Creek...and each staff member was "just right". Kitchen staff assisted us to leave early so we could go "crabbing" with our son a o'dark thirty. Then when we decided to go out early fishing the next day on a head boat (Bunky's was great), they allowed us to check out, retrieve our bags at noon, and remove the "fish aroma" prior to flying back home. The gardener was delightful...the food delicious, the owner...what a joy! Their suggestions of the Museum, the CD Cafe and boating were right on! Thanks for making our stay a real treat.

Room Tip: Thyme was easily accessible from the street, lots of space and lighting was very relaxing.

We spend 2 nights at the Inn with our friends for our annual weekend getaway. What a beautiful house it was. We had a beautiful view of the bay. The house has a beautiful garden you can sit at to relax. The hospitality was amazing. A huge thanks to Monica, Sherry and Sara. You are all wonderful and made our stayed very enjoyable. Will definitely be returning back in the future.

We picked this Inn based on other reviews and the location. I've stayed at quite a few B&B's and this is by far one of my favorites. Our room, The Tansy, on the second floor in the original section of the house was private, comfortable and cozy. Included two sitting areas and desk. Great water view as well. Staff is friendly and available but not intrusive. Great breakfasts.

Common areas were nicely set up and the grounds are lovely. The Inn itself is tucked away and seems secluded but is walking distance to the main part of Solomons including restaurants. Recommend CDs...wonderful food!
Highly recommend this B&B!

We recently stayed, for the second time, at the Back Creek Inn. We really enjoyed both the location and the hospitality. This is a place where you can park your car and not drive again until you leave -- restaurants within walking distance. We kayak, and are able to launch right from their dock -- granted we did use the sand spit on the other side of the OTHER dock :)

We stayed in the Thyme room which was nicely appointed. Great bed, own TV, and nice sitting area. There is also a private porch area available, and a really nice comfy blue chair with an umbrella that is great to sit, relax and read your book.

Overall, we truly enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

My husband & I traveled to southern maryland for our grandson's graduation and our son' retirement from the Navy. Normally we would stay with our son, but he had a houseful. We had visited Solomon's Island in the past and loved it. We had not seen Back Creek Inn in person. After reading the reviews we chose to stay at the Inn. This was the "the cing on the cake" to a wonderful week. The Inn is beautiful and Carol and staff made our perfect week even more perfect. And thank you Marsha for your wonderful hospitality and great breakfasts. We are hoping that our son has a "houseful" again so we can stay at Back Creek Inn again!

This was a lovely B & B within walking distance of eateries and the boardwalk. Foxglove was blooming as well as the tallest snapdragons I've ever seen. Lovely planters throughout the garden and on the patio. Many places to sit and relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We chose to eat breakfast in the lovely dining room, however. The Eggs Benedict were done to perfection. Be sure to spend a few hours at the Calvert Marine Museum and the Annmarie Sculpture Garden. Also, the Calvert Cliffs State Park trail down to the fossil beach was profuse with laurel blossoms. Visiting the historic St. Mary's, MD over the bridge capped off our two-day trip.

Room Tip: We stayed in Tansy. It was adequate for our needs.
