“Great B&B”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

Our stay here was just wonderful. Mary is ever present, but not intrusive, and makes every effort to provide what you want or need. The location is quiet and private but near to the main hub of activities of the area. We had a terrace room which we enjoyed very much, but if we go in the cooler months, we'd like to stay in one of the larger rooms with a bigger bathroom. The accommodations are spotless and the breakfasts and snacks were delicious. The nightly bonfires were so relaxing and a perfect ending to the day. The path to the cove was not too long but pretty steep which made the return a good workout. Be sure to see the waterfalls at Swallow Falls State Park!

The inn was very homey and we felt comfortable right away. It is very quiet there and Mary is very nice and informative (plus she is from Pittsburgh!). You are not right on the lake, but it is a nice walk down to it, and they do provide canoes and paddle boat, and bikes. Breakfast was great and they have individual tables. Our room was small, but nice and clean. They do have larger rooms available. The weather was cool and a little rainy - but we had a great time. Played pool in the living room and beer/wine and pop were provided.

Mary made us feel right at home, breakfast was a wonderful experience. The B& B was inviting, cozy, relaxing and a place that my husband would go back to again and again. We would recommend it to all our friends and family's.

Room Tip: A great time to visit would be late summer and early fall

The inn was beautiful. It's quiet, charming, and wonderful. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The actual inn is super cute. Mary, the inn-keeper, was so hospitable and kind and made sure we felt welcomed. There are bikes, kayaks, and canoes to use at your leisure. Mary made a fire every night with marshmallows for roasting. The main lobby has tons of movies to watch, wine to drink and appetizers to eat before going out for dinner. It is right next to Deep Creek Lake state park so you can go hiking and exploring during the day. It was an amazing stay and I wish I had the time to stay longer.

My parents stayed here a few nights ago and they had nothing but rave reviews. Since I did the reservation and was there at check in my review is a combination of all of our experience (and I am jealous I did not stay there!). First making a reservation with Mary over the phone was a piece of cake. She remembered all sorts of details from the call so that the room was amazing and there was champagne chilling in a bucket when they arrived. She provided a great introductory tour to the property so they could get familiar with everything. I stayed to chill on their deck and enjoy a glass of wine. The common room had a stocked fridge and great snacks (and comfy chairs!). The stay was too short for them to enjoy the kayaks and the lake but the amount of extras available to guests was amazing (kayaks, canoes, fishing equipment, tennis!); however they enjoyed talking with other guests at the fire pit and at breakfast. Will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Great location, quiet and not on a main road. In the woods, but only a few minutes walk from the lake. The personal service was great, with appetizers in the evenings, beer and wine provided. They have 2 canoes, a two person kayak and a paddleboat at their dock for your use. Clean and the staff was very friendly. We will be back.

Room Tip: Get room 10. It is at one end of the building, large, quiet and has an exit right outside your door...

Stayed here based on reviews on this site. Must say that the Inn lived up to it's glowing reviews.
Mary, along with her son Joe (returning to college this week), have paid extra attention to little details that made our stay surpass my expectations. We took the brand new ocean kayak out twice. Wanted to make use of the mountain bikes, but never found the time. Next visit, maybe? Delicious breakfasts and enjoyed the 6:00pm hor dourves, the warm cookies, chocolates and port wine at 8:00, and of course the smores around the bonfires at 9:00!
If I had to find something wrong it would be that the shower temps changed often, from hot to cold. Just a little nuisance. And that the our room was small, but I expected that after reading some reviews. That said, I'd return for another stay at Carmel Cove Inn.

Room Tip: We stayed in terrace room 3
