My husband and I stayed at Carmel Cove this past weekend. It was a wonderful getaway. The innkeeper Mary showed us the facility when we arrived and was extremely gracious and accommodating. You can tell that she truly takes pride in what she does. We stayed in a "premiere" suite which is a little pricier but worth it for the larger space and whirlpool tub. My only complaint is that we were in the very first room so there were always voices and some action going on outside our door. The doors are very thin so I think in the future we will request a room downstairs for a little more privacy. We felt right at home beautiful "great room" with wood burning stove dvd's pool table board games wine beer fried he always stocked. Bonfires with smores!!! It's also very close to 219 Garrett Highway so it's close to everything!! We will be back! Thanks Mary and staff for a wonderful weekend!!

We stayed 2 nights at Carmel Cove Inn for the first time at the end of July. The Inn had many thoughtful touches for guests and details were not overlooked. Mary and her son were exceptional hosts.

The breakfast meals were excellent and a very pleasant surprise. In the very nice common area complimentary snacks, beer and wine at cocktail hour were provided, and a sweet treat and port wine in the evening were appreciated.

We upgraded for what we thought would be a Premier Room. As our visit was in July we did not need to light the gas fireplace. Although the small bathroom have a whirpool tub, the room was nothing special. The room was clean, but had a damp, musty smell. The Stickley furniture fit into the overall aesthetic to the building. Our room was located on the lower level just below the breakfast area. Windows were almost at ground level and looked right into the parking area. If you are the type of traveler to want to sleep in, don't get the room below a community area. Beginning at 7:00 am it sounded like an aerobic class was above us.

As an added bonus, the Inn did offer activities for guests such as fishing, tennis, canoes, hiking and a nice bonfire in the evening. We noticed snowshoes and cross county skiing equipment for visitors in the winter.

Overall, we would stay at Carmel Cove Inn again but not stay in the same room.

Room Tip: The Inn is small, ask for a room with a private deck out back and not the room below the breakfast room.

This is our second visit to Carmel Cove and everything exceeded our expectations, again! The exceptional attention to detail from the amenities like the food, drinks and snacks made for a fabulous and relaxing weekend. Our room, number 9, is beautifully appointed with a cozy bed and memory foam pad which ensured two nights of good sleep. The grounds are so beautiful, and we loved being able to use your canoe out on the lake. We also loved the evening bonfire and smores! We truly appreciated the champagne and strawberries that greeted us upon arrival for my husband's birthday. It is most apparent that Mary takes great pride in all she does here while still being able to maintain a relaxed, cozy environment for her guests. We will return, hopefully to go cross-country skiing this winter!

I would first like to say that I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We were greeted by Mary, who made us feel right at home. Once we got the tour, we arrived to our room with a surprise of champagne and a birthday message. We had read reviews prior to coming, but it totally blew away our expectations. The common room is a great place to relax and the complimentary wine/beer/snacks were refreshing. The breakfasts were out of this world and our room was cozy. We enjoyed the amenities including a nice kayak trip to Deep Creek State Park, DVDs to bring to the room at night, and midnight chocolate chip cookies. We also got the chance to go for a short hike at Swallow Falls and check out the new man made whitewater rafting course at the Wisp. I strongly recommend this B&B to others.

Our stay here was just wonderful. Mary is ever present, but not intrusive, and makes every effort to provide what you want or need. The location is quiet and private but near to the main hub of activities of the area. We had a terrace room which we enjoyed very much, but if we go in the cooler months, we'd like to stay in one of the larger rooms with a bigger bathroom. The accommodations are spotless and the breakfasts and snacks were delicious. The nightly bonfires were so relaxing and a perfect ending to the day. The path to the cove was not too long but pretty steep which made the return a good workout. Be sure to see the waterfalls at Swallow Falls State Park!
