I visited Carmel Cove with my fiance and a group of friends. In one word, Carmel Cove is nothing short of welcoming. The Inn Keepers, Heather and Keith, along with their staff, were as inviting, friendly and attentive as family (the ones you really enjoy staying with). They've thought through many accommodating details such as the staff wearing no shoes, but just socks in the mornings so as to not wake guests! With so much being included and available on the property, we found ourselves only needing to tote the room key around - forget about the phone or the blackberry, or even a wallet. We made full use of the facilities, from breakfast through to hanging out with other guests in the evenings over drinks, pool and great conversation in the common room. The weekend was truly complete when every guest came together with Heather and Keith for a great bonfire. It was clear that this place fosters a little community in its guests - even over the course of just a weekend.

My husband and I stayed at Carmel Cove Inn for a weekend with several other couples. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we really enjoyed the experience. The Innkeepers really know how to take care of you!

On Friday night, our group enjoyed the large common room, with free wine, beer, soda, and snacks. On Saturday, after a delicious home-made breakfast, we made use of the canoes and the 'swim noodles' from the activity shed (how nice not to have to pack all your own stuff!) and spent the day at the lake. My husband and I also hiked around Swallow Falls.

Saturday night, Keith and Heather had a bonfire, complete with s'mores. Mmmm! We enjoyed the cool night air around the fire.

On Sunday, after another delicious breakfast, it was time to go.

We were really happy with the cleanliness and comfort of our room, but if you have any specific room- requirements, make sure to let them know when you are booking your stay, each room is a little different (since it is a converted Monastery and not just a regular hotel).

We decided come here with 5 couples for our combined bachelor/bachelorette weekend getaway. It was the best choice we could have made! I worried that after reading about all the fantastic amenities online that it would somehow fail to meet my expectations, but in fact it far exceeded them!
The rooms were all beautiful and tastefully decorated, so you don't feel like you're sleeping in your grandmom's spare room. The common area had so much character, and also had snacks and drinks set out all about. We played pool and hung out in the evenings there. They had fresh pie or cinnamon rolls set out in the dining area at all times with the coffee & tea. The entire place is so neat and cozy, and VERY clean.
Breakfasts were amazing and filling! We ate on the large deck with our group each morning. Keith & Heather were very accommodating to the vegetarian and picky eaters in our group.
We also noticed that during the mornings, everyone who works at the inn walks around in slipper socks so as not to make noise and awaken sleepy guests! Very thoughtful.
The trail through the woods wasn't too far, and we were able to go swimming off the dock and take out the inn's paddle boat and canoes.
Keith and Heather were the best hosts possible! We received a warm welcome and helpful suggestions on activities. Saturday we bought picnic foods and sausages to grill up on the inn's grills. They provided the s'mores, coals, seasonings, and even brought us out a bucket of champagne for our group to celebrate our occasion! They hung out and partied with us around the fire, as did most of the other guests, and we had a wonderful evening of guitar playing, singing, eating and hanging around the fire. It was relaxing and fun and perfect. I wish we could have stayed all week.
We can't wait to go back, thanks so much to the customer service that we found there that is so hard to find anymore these days. Well worth the price; you don't even need to leave! Thank you!

The room we stayed"room 9" was the smallest yet pleasantly decorated with period decor, yet modern. Flat screen tv, wireless internet. personal appliances.
Heather and Keith were the perfect Inn Keepers, Always there for help but never obtrusive.
The breakfasts was original and filling.
Great place to relax, walk through the woods and enjoy a piece of nature. Never know what animal you will see.
Lake was not visible and a nice hike that is worth the trip.
We WILL return

Stayed here over a weekend and had a great time. The Inn has nice character being that it used to be a Monastery, that was a big seller for me. It's also located very close to all of the Deep Creek Lake restaurants, stores, etc.

Carmel Cove Inn is not located directly on the lake, which was a little disappointing. It's a short walk though, about 300 meters down to the lake and you take a nice little path. That was really the only disappointing thing I encountered during my stay.

The rooms are nice, cozy and warm. I booked a "premium" room which had a fireplace, in room dining area for breakfast and a whirlpool tub. The Innkeepers take great care of the place, breakfast was always presented beautifully and they provide 24 hour drinks and snacks which is great. The great room is also a nice surprise - there's a very large flatscreen TV, a great DVD collection, CD's, pool table and drinks (wine, beer, soda) for all of the guests to use.

Another bonus is that guests have access to the "activity shed" where you can use tennis rackets, bikes, fishing rods, snowshoes, etc. Great resource since the area is fantastic for all outdoors activities.

We had a great time!!!
