I cannot say enough great things about the property, staff, food, atmosphere, everything. We were married on the property, but spent a few days here since everyone was from out of town. Everything was amazing. My family ate in the restaurant on Thursday night and both my parents, who are hard to please, were amazing. The chef came around and introduced himself and he even sought me out on my wedding day to say good luck. Breakfast is included each morning and the food was always different and amazing. They include waters in the room and put roses on the beds at night.

The rooms are BEAUTIFUL. Each one has so much fun character and they are huge. We loved exploring everyone's room and we stayed in 4 the time we were there (our families stayed in a bunch too). We were there in late June and no one claimed about hot rooms.

Elizabeth Fortier was our wedding coordinator and I cannot tell you how AMAZING she was to work with. The staff worked so hard. We had to move rooms a few times and tried to make sure our rooms would be ready early and even knew to move our stuff to our rooms.

The food it is beyond anything we had. Breakfast, as mentioned, was great and different each morning. We ate in the restaurant on Friday night for our welcome party and everyone was so impressed with the food and appetizers. For the wedding, our passed appetizers and stations were amazing and the food was beyond anything anyone has ever had for a wedding.

I 100% visiting this place at some point. Amazing place.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great! Boucher Suite is the BEST

I wish I lived in Maryland just so I could stay at this hotel once a month. They treat you like royalty here. My friend and I spent a night here to get away and relax and that's exactly what we did. We felt catered to constantly and the price was very reasonable. The room and jacuzzi were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend having dinner here with chef Spencer Wolf. We started with cocktails and appetizers in a victorian-esque lounge, then taken to the dining room where we enjoyed a delicious 4 course meal.

We just celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary at the Antrim 1844 with friends who were married 7 days before us. We have stayed at the Antrim 1844 on at least 6 previous occasions and each stay was outstanding. On this occasion, we signed up for their "Cool Off in the Cellar" package that included an afternoon wine tasting in the wine cellar, a gourmet dinner in their Smokehouse Restaurant, and overnight accommodations.

The pampering starts when you walk through the front door of the hotel and are greeted by a member of the staff. Without exception, the staff members are highly trained professionals who are also personable. They strive to make your stay memorable.

The rooms are large and very well appointed with antiques.

The gourmet dinner selections vary and we have never been disappointed with the variety and high quality of the ingredients.

If you are looking for a relaxing experience in elegant surroundings at reasonable prices, this is a "must do".

My ceremony was at The Antrim 1844 on June 6th. What a perfect day! Elizabeth Fortier was my events planner and everything was amazing! We stayed in The Grant Suite and we were very impressed with the size of the room and loved the jacuzzi tub and four poster bed. Our wedding package included champagne in the room, roses and chocolate covered strawberries. Our ceremony was held in the gardens and it was beautiful. Following our ceremony we had a six course dinner that was outstanding! The staff was terrific!

My wife and I recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Antrim 1844, and words cannot describe how much everyone at Antrim 1844 exceeded our expectations and provided such a wonderful setting for our "dream" wedding. In a word, "Wow!"

First and foremost, the staff at Antrim 1844 are really amazing - a special acknowledgement goes out to Beth (the on-site wedding coordinator) who masterfully helped coordinate everything leading up to our event, as well as being on hand the day of the wedding to make sure everything went according to plans. Beth gave us great advice, suggestions and recommendations (she recommended our florist, who was also amazing) leading up to the event, and even pulled out a few surprises on the wedding day, including several beautifully decorated display tables which fit our theme perfectly. She was a joy to work with from beginning to end, and we can't praise her enough! Another special acknowledgement goes out to Executive Chef Spencer, who was also a joy to work with! Chef Spencer "created" our specialized 6 course reception menu, which included Duck Terrine, Arugula Salad with Goat Cheese, Rabbit, Sea Bass and a delicious Filet, based on several discussions we had about food we have enjoyed while traveling, and the final presentation was delicious, perfectly prepared and on par with any meal we've had at Michelin rated restaurants (to include Paris and other "foodie" places we have travelled to). We know this couldn't have been easy, as we had 70 guests, and the food was presented to each guest perfectly. One of the other requests we had for Chef Spencer was to provide a 6 course meal for several vegan guests, and although we would have been happy with basic vegan dishes, as we knew preparation for the specialized menu for our non-vegan guests was going to be difficult, Chef Spencer insisted on replicating each course as a vegan alternative, and pulled it off perfectly. He also prepared our rehearsal dinner, and the salmon and crab cakes were wonderful. I am a diehard G & M restaurant fan (for those of you who know this Linthicum, Maryland gem), and feel they are probably the best affordable crab cakes in this area, and Chef Spencer’s were easily as good, if not better. Also a special thank you to Tim, who was on hand for our rehearsal dinner, and was a fantastic host to our meal. He recommended some spot on wines and really seemed to be a prime example of the overall professionalism of the entire Antrim 1844 staff. The entire wait staff, many of whom were also wait staff for the on-site restaurant as well, were all fantastic. The service of the meal was elegant, timely, non-intrusive, and although we always knew they were there (because of the great attentive service); they never intruded and blended in perfectly. We chose an upgraded open bar package (very affordable, and we had some heavy drinkers on hand), which included several top shelf bourbon and scotch whiskeys, which were poured generously, and also included a signature drink (peach Bellini), which was delicious.

One of the attractions for us and Antrim 1844 is the availability of on-site rooms, which they have plenty (both in the actual Mansion and also in several other separate buildings on the property). We had many family members traveling to share this day with us, and having on-site rooms made our planning that much stress free. The rooms are awesome, especially if you appreciate "period" style rooms indicative of a stately Mansion that has such a great history. Think large beds you need a small step stool to climb into, luxurious bedding and comforters, beautiful artwork, soaring ceilings and bathrooms so large, many of them have separate seating areas, and a bridal suite that is to die for. By the time we finally retired to our suite (which is 3 very large rooms including a huge luxury bath), the staff had delivered a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, some remaining wedding cake and 2 pitchers of our peach Bellini’s). There was also fresh flower petals delicately laid about our bed and the bath.

Another beautiful attraction for Antrim is the Mansion and the picturesque gardens and grounds. The Mansion is just beautiful, and one can really appreciate the history and elegance it commands, with huge and lavishly decorated adjoining parlors, high ceilings, appropriate period furniture and a grand staircase. One of our favorite American cities is Savannah, Georgia, and we love the history and architecture Savannah exudes - Antrim is right up there, and for a couple who dreamed of a "grand" southern wedding but didn't want to travel so far, Antrim 1844 fit the bill perfectly. We had our ceremony in the garden, and as I wandered the grounds in the early morning prior to the wedding taking it all in, I saw a gardener planting fresh flowers around a beautiful stone water fountain, perfectly complimenting the already spectacular gardens. We had our reception inside the property's formal reception room, which has beautiful hardwood floors, floor to ceiling windows, French doors and a perfect patio. Immediately outside is a croquet lawn, where we had some decorated tables and corn hole boards, which made for a perfect transition from the reception room to a beautiful outdoor gathering. Eventually, many of us made our way to the on-site "English" themed pub and adjoining outdoor terrace, which was a perfect spot to sample a very respectable selection of aged Scotch Whiskeys. And finally, although we didn't choose the wine cellar for our rehearsal dinner, after getting a look at it for pictures, it is quite stunning! Toss in a coffee and pastry tray delivered outside your room early in the morning and then followed by a delicious country breakfast, served to the wedding party in a dedicated room (also beautiful), and Antrim 1844 easily establishes itself as a premier wedding and reception venue. The fact that everything is right there makes it all the more attractive.

Last but not least, the final recommendation is the pricing. I won't go into detail about how much our final bill was, but I will say, after tallying up 9 rooms for one night for family, an amazing 6 course gourmet meal (thanks again Chef Spencer!!!!!!!!) complete with 4 delicious appetizers served between the ceremony and the reception for 70 people, an upgraded open bar package, an amazing staff and a dedicated wedding planner, we felt like we would have easily paid significantly more at most other comparable places (and we looked at many other places starting 2 years ago), and I never dreamed we could have such an amazing wedding and reception at such a beautiful place for such an affordable price.

We would absolutely recommend Antrim 1844 as a premier wedding venue, and we will return many times to enjoy the memories - Well done Antrim 1844! Well done!

We stayed overnight with dinner at the restaurant. Our room, the Ice House, was what was described and expected based on online research. It was nice for us other than not having curtains or a blind on the big window right behind the bed. We felt on display to anyone walking in the garden nearby, and would have preferred to not have morning light streaming in at 6 am. The dinner was fantastic. From appetizers and drinks to the main dinner of several courses, we were able to try many foods we don't normally eat. The staff was outstanding, from the young man who showed us to our room to the dining staff, who were not stuffy at all. We don't live too far away from the inn (about 45 minutes), so this was a perfect little jaunt to get away from things for an evening.

I will agree with all of the other reviewers that the "first breakfast" delivered to our mailbox was such a sweet way to wake up and start the day. As close to breakfast in bed as I want at a hotel. What a great idea. Breakfast at the main restaurant on this particular day was a bit of a let down to us personally. There is only one substantial choice of entree, and we were not keen on breakfast quiche with tons of vegetables accompanied by a side salad (for breakfast). Was really hoping for some french toast, but no luck.

The whole stay was very expensive, but as it was a gift, I did not have to worry about value. Not sure I would pay that much normally for a single evening, but it was truly memorable and enjoyable. The grounds are gorgeous, and we were just a week shy of probably seeing the most spectacular explosion of peony blooms imaginable. They were just about to come out.

Room Tip: The Ice Room is nice, being a private building not too far from the main inn. Lovely bed and tub, b...

My wife and I have stayed at the Antrim since they opened the Inn for guests in 1988, which ironically is the same year we got married. Since it's alittle pricey, my in-laws provided us with a gift certificate for our 1 year anniversary, and we have been going there ever since, almost every anniversary. We feel blessed to be only about a 20 minute drive from this fabulous estate, and over the years have had other special events at the Smokehouse Restaurant. Until recently being able to afford to travel and stay at other Inns, my wife and I didn't really know what we had right in our own backyard. This place is truly amazing in the experience they provide for their guests. This anniversary, which was just a week ago, we did their summer Cool off package, which in lieu of the afternoon tea, we had a wine and cheese pairing in their wine cellar. This was a very unique experience where we sat with 6 other couples and really enjoyed conversation and some spectactular wines. After the wine, and part of your package, is the cocktail and hordorve' hour, prior to being seated at your table. Many guests sit in the living room or dining of the mansion during this time, buy we typically head straight to the deck, where we sit under an umbrella and soak up the beautiful grounds, weather permitting -this year was perfect weather. Last year, they changed chefs for the first time since we've been patrons, and we have been impressed with the quality and variety of dishes on the menu. This time my wife had her usual filet, which she loves, but I had the pork tenderloin, which was cooked and served perfectly. The restaurant serves you a 5 course meal, so it's more of an event than a meal. This time I actually tried rabbit for the appetizer and it was delicious, served in a fantanstic sauce with noodles. They will provide you with a beautiful breakfast tray at 8 AM, with coffee or tea, and a pastry, and then you can be served a full breakfast in the restaurant, where you have a choice of several options, which are always delicious. What sets Antirm apart from other places is not just the food, but the grounds. It is truly a special retreat where you are placed in another world while you are there. There are places to sit and relax and enjoy the scenary, or if you want to be active you can play croquet, swim in the pool, or walk the grounds. For those not familiar with the area, you are in close proximity to Gettysburg, which can easily occupy a few days of site seeing ( a can't miss is the new visitor center and Kilwin's ice cream- we prefer to rent bikes and ride the battle field tourist route - map available at the visitor center) Thank you to the Mollets for maintaining this beautiful estate and the high standard they have set since opening!

Room Tip: We have stayed numerous times in the Jefferson Davis room, which sits along the outskirts of the est...
