Bob and Terry are great and super accommodating. The location is so perfect you won't want to leave! I'd recommend if you stay in a cabin, bring food so you can cook. The cabins all have a kitchen with basic cookware and silverware/plates. The only reason we every left the Inn was to eat, and I wish we had thought of preparing our own dinner in our cabin.

Caution: There are many deer on the island, be sure to use bug spray for ticks (otherwise you'll bring home one like I did)!

Room Tip: Cabins are well worth the extra $$

The Black Walnut Point Inn does feel like it's 'at the end of the world', as they say. It's very secluded, peaceful and with beautiful scenery. It is a great getaway when feeling stressed out, needing some romantic time and space, or needing to reflect. We just held a wedding ceremony at BWPI - only my husband, myself and Bob and Tracy (Tracy officiated our marriage). Bob and Tracy could not have been more helpful and flexible in helping us make it a relaxed, fun ceremony. We weren't into making it complicated or planning too much, and they gave us ideas on how to go about it and made it really simple and pretty stress-free.
Hospitality of the hosts is second-to-none - a very warm welcome and positive energy that sets you up for a good stay! They also cook up a great breakfast (and happily filled my request of poached eggs even though that wasn't on the days menu).
The cabin we stayed in (Yew Tree) was very well equipped - big fridge, oven, coffee maker, iron, hairdryer, flatscreen TV, AC and heat, microwave etc. The bed was king-size and comfy. Views from the cabin are fantastic! Sitting on the outdoor deck was a great way to pass the evenings. The hot tub was a particularly exciting and unexpected treat! Swimming pool and hammocks were great! (The last time I visted BWPI was in January 2012 and so the pool and hammocks weren't out).
Will definitely be back in the future (not too far future, I hope!)

Room Tip: Cabins are a few feet from the edge of the water meaning you wake up in the morning with full waterf...

This was our first stay at the Inn after driving up the Point drive several years ago and finding the Inn at the end of the road. We were greeted by the Owners immediately upon arriving and they showed us to the cabin that we booked. Both were very welcoming. Our stay was for 2 nights so we were able to enjoy several breakfasts that were very nice. The Owners seem to enjoy their guests and are very knowledgeable about all of the birds and the surrounding area. With a small kitchen in the cabin we planned and brought all of our meals for the weekend. Although the scenery around the cabins was spectacular with water surrounding the Point, we were somewhat disappointed with the inside of the cabin especially for the price point they charge. We would consider staying again but probably much later in the season so that all of the screens, screen doors and general cleanup around the buildings from the long winter was complete prior to our next stay.

This quiet hideaway was spectacular: water lapping at the land's edge, sunsets that reflect off the water like diamonds, beautiful flowers, breezes to soothe, and hosts to please. Our two day respite was special.

I was looking for a special "away" place to spend with my girlfriend. Found Black Walnut Point and decided to go visit. I can say that it was very private and quiet. We sat on the screened porch at or cabin and watched storms coming up the Chesapeake Bay. The lightening show was awesome. On Sunday morning we went to breakfast in the house and met some very nice couples and were treated to an excellent freshly prepared breakfast. Our hosts were there to answer any questions we had and offer us assistance (it wasn't needed) and were great ambassadors of the property. We will definately go back again.

Room Tip: Fantastic views of the Choptank River and Chesapeake Bay.

We grew up on the water. We're amateur birders. We enjoy good food, good drink, and stimulating company. Above all we want to be able to be silent at times and have it surround us. Combine these with the beauty of the Chesapeake and you have the Black Walnut Point Inn on Tilghman Island, MD. Go there. You will be warmly welcomed.

Our sincerest thanks to Bob and Tracy for welcoming us to Black Walnut Point last weekend for our daughter’s wedding. Everything was perfect!! The Inn is beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. We stayed in the Tilghman Room which is spacious and has an amazing view.

Bob and Tracy are the best hosts and wedding planners. Careful attention was calmly given to every detail of our stay and this large wedding (including pureed food for a family member with special needs).

We started the weekend off decorating the reception tent and wedding rehearsal. The rehearsal was well planned and a lot of fun. The wedding day began with a fantastic family style breakfast in the Inn’s beautifully decorated dining room. My husband and I enjoyed having that time with our family before the festivities began.

The ceremony was officiated by Tracy with grace, eloquence and humor.

The multiple porches, comfortable rockers and amazing views invite quality family/friend time before, during and after the wedding.

The wedding day flew by, but the picture I will always have in my mind is our daughter and son-in-law being married before the cross at the Point as the sun reflected off the water.
