Description: Reopening May 5, 2017. Mattakeese Wharf is a SEASONAL waterfront restaurant on Cape Cod, MA since 1968. We serve fresh, local seafood including lobsters, steaks, chicken, and some Italian specialties. There is no better romantic sunset view while dining on the Cape than here at Mattakeese Wharf. See the sunset slideshow on our website with many photos contributed by diners. We are open late April through mid October. Mattakeese Wharf is located next to a whale watching boat so we are a natural destination after your day on the water with the whales. We offer a full bar and live entertainment during the summer season... a great place to watch the Sox games! We serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week plus Brunch on Sundays. We are open from 11:30am until well into the evening.... depending on how busy we are, roughly 10-11pm.

“Seafood and sunset”

Crabcakes were awesome. My husband had the swordfish. He is super discriminating, since he is a cook. He loved it and took what he could not eat to save in the hotel fridge for lunch. That is rare for him. Very attentive service. Nice location for a relaxed sunset dinner. Family oriented, but nice for couple also.

“ALONG RT 6A”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

Driving down route 6a on Cape Cod it hard to find a restaurant that is not superior. Mattakeese Wharf is one of my favorites especially for fish meals. The view of the water is supreme. The only real negative is that it's closed during the cold seasons.

“Nice view - terrible food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch after a whale watch, thinking how nice to sit and enjoy the water view and have something hot and tasty after being out on the water for 4 hours.
My husband had the chowder which was "ok" though could have been served hotter. I had an arugula salad with strawberries, goat cheese, candied pecans and balsamic dressing. It looked awesome...but. The greens were wilted and bitter, the pecans were rubbery, and the strawberries were barely noticeable. My husband than had fried clams (I think there were 5 on the plate) and I had an individual pesto, mozzarella, and cheese pizza. The mozzarella was greasy and tasted horrible. It was an expensive letdown to an otherwise great day.

“Watch the sunset and dine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Mattakeese is located on one of the most beautiful waterfront locations on Cape Cod. Plan to be there for the nightly sunsets while dining on fresh fish and other culinary options. The bar is a great place to meet friends and the view of the harbor activity is always a treat!

“Nice place to dine on Cape, FANTASTIC view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Beautiful view. Sit on the water and watch the sunset. It has a typical seafood menu. The lobster gazpacho was delicious. A little disappointed that they ran out of steamers and the is only one oyster selection. Service was great. The decor is quite old, but the view and seafood are worth the trip. Try the cioppino!
