Description: Reopening May 5, 2017. Mattakeese Wharf is a SEASONAL waterfront restaurant on Cape Cod, MA since 1968. We serve fresh, local seafood including lobsters, steaks, chicken, and some Italian specialties. There is no better romantic sunset view while dining on the Cape than here at Mattakeese Wharf. See the sunset slideshow on our website with many photos contributed by diners. We are open late April through mid October. Mattakeese Wharf is located next to a whale watching boat so we are a natural destination after your day on the water with the whales. We offer a full bar and live entertainment during the summer season... a great place to watch the Sox games! We serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week plus Brunch on Sundays. We are open from 11:30am until well into the evening.... depending on how busy we are, roughly 10-11pm.

“Great food and ambiance”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

Have not been here in years but decided to have lunch today. Sat at a window (open) right above the harbor and docks. The view of SANDY Neck is so great also. Watched the pleasure, fishing and whale watch boats come and go. The food was wonderful and plentiful. I had stuffed quahogs and a Cape Cod salad. Both were special ... very tasty. Service was great also.
No reservations for small parties so if you want a,waterside seat..get there at opening.

“Great view, great food and great service!”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

We just came back from a wonderful dinner. We had 5 adults in our party and reservations at 6:30. We arrived early and were seated early at a window table. Chowder was very good. We ordered
two baked stuffed haddock dinners, two grilled swordfish and one broiled swordfish. The fish entrees were incredible...after a summer of dinners on the cape, we all said that these fish dinners were the best we had eaten this summer....obviously freshly caught and perfectly cooked with delicious sauces. Portions were ample. Desserts were equally good. Our waitress, Kendall, could not have been friendlier or more professional. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was great with live music. Best meal this summer! Prices were very reasonable given the location, service and quality of the food.

“Never eat there again”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We are at this restaurant for the first time last night and will never go there again. We were looking for a nice place to eat on the water and came across this place which we thought would be great. Boy were we wrong. We arrived a little after 6:30 and got seated right away(great). There were four adults and a 5 year old in our party. Our waitress brought us waters and took our drink orders right away(another great). It took a little bit to get our drinks which once delivered our waitress said she would be back over to take our order shortly. Shortly turned into 30 minutes. We sat there and waited and watched another table who sat down after us get there drinks and their dinners ordered before our waitress ever returned. When she did finally come bavk to the table we placed our orders which included oysters on the half shell and fried calamari to start. The oysters were shucked horribly and the calamari was ok. It then took another 30-35 minutes for our entrees to come but only three of the fibr came out. My son got the children's burger sliders which were ok for any 5 year old. I got the grilled swordfish with rice and vegetables which were so overcooked they were just mush and the swordfish was as dry as could be. The crab cakes were frozen and then deep fried not worth the 22 bucks that they are charging. The fried shrimp were ok but not served with Tatar sauce which never came because our waitress never returned to our table after dropping off our food. At the end of what little of the meal we ate we had another server come over to our table to see if we needed anything. Yes our waitress. To say the least the food and the service was not worth any amount of money that we spent. To anyone reading this we hope that you do not waste your time and money to dine at this establishment.

“Good lobster rolls on the wharf”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

This restaurant was recommended by a local when we said we wanted to eat lunch outside by the water. It was fine, but a little disappointing when we sat on the covered deck that was sided with closed windows and we could only look out at the beautiful sunny day. Still, the recommended lobster rolls were fresh and tasty with very large portions. And it was nice watching the small boats come into the wharf, even through the windows. Service was very good.

“Fantastic lobster”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Book a table for when you get back from the whalewatching - that way you can hopefully get a great sunset view. Good service great food, table should have been fully cleared after the lobster before bringing dessert instead of only part clearing it. So a star lost on service.
