This was quite a find and an amazing collection of Coast Guard memorabilia and history. KUDOS to all who participated in securing the site and donating the artifacts, uniforms, and models on display in this incredible tribute to our Coast Guard

A delightful discovery in the heart of Barnstable!
A beautifully restored historic building set on a hill in the middle of Barnstable on 6A has become the center for celebrating the history of the Coast Guard. Numerous gifts from retired Coast Guard ("Coasties") officers and enlisted personnel has filled out the displays on two floors with pictures and narratives (including a short video) focused on the fascinating history of the Service. A number of ship and boat models bring to life the crucial role that the CG has played in protecting America's shorelines as well as abroad in various wars. Volunteer "coasties" are terrific guides for the museum with rich stories of their own service years. Small entrance fee that is well worth the experience.

Stopped in Barnstable to learn more about coast guard history before taking our son to the Coast Guard Academy in New London.

Our guide, a former coastie now volunteer, engaged us with many stories about the service; its history, operations, equipment, famous rescues, and people.

Enjoyed the many interesting artifacts which were well organized in different areas of the museum.

He offered inspiring advice to our son as he begins his career.

We are so grateful.

We stopped here as husband is veteran coastie. He loved it and so.did kids. Brought back many memories. The docent was retired coast guard. Very knowledgeable of area and museum. Well worth the stop and time. More people need to go.

A small two story building filled with numerous artifacts and history of the Coast Guard. The guide taught us very well about the history of the organization, past and present. We enjoyed the hour spent learning more about the Coast Guard.
