“A beautiful trail that leads to an otherwordly quarry”

Becket Land Trust Historic Quarry
Ranked #2 of 5 things to do in Becket
Attraction details
Reviewed 3 October 2012

This place combines a nice walk in the forest, up a gently inclined and well-defined trail (read "kid-friendly"), with a very unusual quarry at the end of the trail. The quarry is unusual in that it looks for all the world like the workers just up and left one day, without bothering to take their trucks and equipment. The quarry itself is beautiful and filled with water. There is a stone staircase leading up to a vantage point with a higher view. This is a nice place for a walk with kids and/or dogs.

The Quarry is easily found off of route 20. Coming from Lee, at the intersection of route 20 and route 8 north instead of taking a left onto 8, take a right onto Bonny Rigg Hill Road. Drive uphill until you see Quarry Road on your left - follow the road until you encounter the parking area for the quarry on the right (there is a sign).
