The restaurant felt dirty, pizza was mediocre and servers were Lackluster. I felt like we were at a ski lodge dinning hall with cafeteria plastic cups. I am all for organic food, but did everything else there have to look organic as well rather than clean?

Went there multiple times. I love their freshly baked thin crusted pizzas and most of all cocktails. You can't make a reservation but you can call and put your name in the waiting list...still you gotto wait for about 45mins-an hour on a Fri evening! The ambience is unique...it's not fancy but its kind of rustic setting with wooden chairs and desks :) Most hostesses are great and friendly...it's always crowded! And I love that clay oven that you can look at from anywhere you are seated. They have many organic options...

Went there with a few friends, for the first time eating there and not getting take out. The service was great; fast and friendly. The best part is you can see your pizza being made in the open kitchen.

My wife and I visited the Flatbread Company on a Friday night at peak time. The parkling lot was nearly full as there are 3 other restaurants in the same large building in Bedford, MA. But with a bit of patience, we did find a spot behind the buidling about 1/2 way down. Much easier mind you than finding a spot to park for a restaurant in downtown Boston! Our waitress, Theresa, asked if we had been to the Flatbread company before and when we replied in the negative she proceeded to explain the organic foods and the menu. She then told us about the specials. We were appreciative of the brief but complete description. We both ordered a fall drink (white, cranberry martini), which was tasty enough to prompt us to order two more later. For outside of Boston, the martinis were a bit steep in price ($10.50 each) which added $42 plus tax to the total of our tab for the night! Skip the booze if you want to keep the tab down. Knowing we planned on bringing stuff home, we ordered a small Flatbread Homemade sausage pizza ($11.75) and a large Jays Heart ($14.50) to which we added Mushrooms, roasted red peppers and we split the pizza in two with 1/2 having red onions and the other 1/2 having caramelized onions. The mushrooms and roasted red peppers added $1.50 each and the onions were $0.75 each so the total for the large pizza was $19. Both pizzas were excellent. Both my wife and I found out we preferred the red onions to the caramelized onions. We were able to talk and hear each other fairly well (we did have to talk a bit louder and lean a little closer to hear) but the noise level was less than some other pizza specialty restaurants we have visited in the past. There were quite a few children ranging from toddlers to some groups of high schoolers. All were pretty well behaved so that wasn't an issue. We noticed that way too many dinners had their smart phones out at the tables... come on people put them away! The one hiccup that occurred during the evening was that our second round of cocktails was slow in coming. Turns out that they had run out of martini glasses! We weren't in a hurry so we didn't mind the short delay and never complained. Even though we weren't complaining, both the waitress and the restaurant owner (without prompting) came over to apologize for the delay. The waitress offered a complementary dessert to us. Unfortunately, this was the day after Halloween and we had left over candy at home and we decided to pass on the desserts as we had already had our fill of sweets for the day. We appreciated the offer however. We actually enjoyed chatting with the restaurant manager (Joe) and even made a suggestion to include a clam and bacon flatbread in their menu. He mentioned to us that they were avoiding seafoods as some dinners have allergies to some dinners. He did say that some of their other locations (like in Maine) did have seafood on the menu as seafood is in much greater demand in those locations. It also happened that our waitress' daughter and parents came in shortly after we were seated and our waitress (being a proud mom) took the time to introduce us. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Oh... our food bill was $43.75 plus tax (and we have just about enough pizza for another meal). Our bar bill was $42 plus tax....drinkers (like us) beware!
