This place is disgusting! The rooms (we had 3 rooms) were dirty and outdated. Hair on the walls in the bathroom, musty smells, broken window (with shards of glass still on the sill), and cobwebs in the shower. One bed had grass in it! Totally unclean. Rundown is one thing, filth is another. Will never go back and never recommend to anyone. We booked on reading reviews. Re-read the reviews and you can 'read into' the comments. I would not even allow my kids to walk around without shoes. It's shameful what we experienced in this place. Could not wait to check out. The $65 nightly fee was astronomical for what we received. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 10 minutes to Greenfield.

Room Tip: If you want clean, go somewhere else.

This is a great place. The owner is the nicest man. This is a overlooked place. The room is CLEAN neat and cozy. I normally stay in greenfield and was pleasantly surprized by the hospitality. The owners take pride in the property. The bathroom is CLEAN,the beds are so comfortable like being home. If you overlook this place for a chain hotel you are making a mistake. This is one of the best places. I would tell anyone from a city or town do not go to chains stay at the windmill. This is cozy, comfy and safe. Again you feel this is your home away from home.

Room Tip: one floor and all the rooms are quiet

I have visited before and I absolutely LOVE this place. Owned by a husband & wife team who also manage & work in the adjoining restaurant, open only for Breakfast. The beds are so comfortable, quilted tops and so much back support. Newer TV's since my last visit, shower with very good water pressure and hot! Safe & homey and at a great location too! Close to the Interstate and Vt and a short ride into NH as well. The owners are accomodating and friendly! Eating in the restaurant for breakfast made me feel like I was in their very own kitchen. They treat you like family, a great place with sweet prices! You won't be disappointed! Under $60 for a room with a double bed. Can't wait to go back....

Pro's: not many besides price ($42 for a twin bed for one) and friendly owners, clean sheets & bathroom, "furnished".

Con's: a fairly standard list for such a low cost roadside motel. Needs updating, one channel TV, loud AC, musty carpet smell, no food or ice. It's a bit run down.

Tips: I would stay here again for <$50 a night, but NOT with my wife! My buddies and I were on a golf getaway, so it was fine for 8h of sleep, not much more. Some long-term tenants seem to find it homey. No wifi, bring your laptop to watch a movie (external cables would probably work for the flat screen TV w/one channel). If the owners ask what time you will be arriving, try to be accurate so they can meet you. The owners are VERY nice. Locks on the door did not look that sturdy, so I left my valuables locked in the car.

This motel is nothing fancy but, it has a homey feel to it. It is a family run motel that offers a clean, quiet place to stay while in the area visiting family. We have stayed there a couple of times for a week's duration. We'll be back, so keep the light on for us.

I stayed here many times. Sure it is a simple place, but it did not cost me an arm and a leg and it was off the beaten path enough to not attract drunks and drug addicts. It was clean and comfortable with a beautiful big sky overhead while sitting out front and it's on a quiet secondary road. I will be back. Love the area.

This motel has almost nothing to recommend it. It has all the things you'd expect in a poor motel - flat pillows, thin walls, teeny showers, no technology of any kind available, no food, not even an ice machine. It needs upgrading in the worst way, but it doesn't seem that the owners fix anything at all. My partner thought they were just holding onto it to sell it when the market picks up, so that was why nothing was done. No internet, no landline, no restaurant even though there's signs for one. They should call this the Nothing For You motel -- even the windmill doesn't work!
